PTS is made of some off-the-shelf Dupont high grade plastic, it looks like the stuff, but not rated to the same load. The RS stuff is made of some proprietary engineering polymer that Magpul developed for the US military. The compound itself is ITAR and thus is export restricted. They are not rated to the same force and obviously Magpul PTS won't guarantee its sturdiness used on the real steel gun. For airsoft PTS is fine.
Where I stand, PTS costs nearly as much after shipping from HK, I can buy RS stuff in US. But thats location dependent. I am sure there are stores that carries RS Magpul item in Canada, for how much I don't know...
