I have a GBBR, I know a bunch of people with GBBRs..... I know they have hammers, but none of the ones I've seen or own have the little bar, so if I'm curious as to what it is or it's purpose/function, then I'm obviously going to ask

WE M4's hammer mechanism works differently, they don't use the RS pin location or layout. WA's hammer actually works more or less like the RS, with 2 cross pin through to the receiver and are located by the receiver through purely friction and slight interference/transitional fit. If the pins are removed a few times and if the receiver are slightly worn they can and will back out.....In the case of G&P receiver, which are not machined from forged blanks and not mil-spec anodized, thats more prone to happen and the anti-rotation links there are for a peace of mind....

Magpul stuff is always up for debate, but they always sells their stuff with the mantra of the end user needing to train for it before it'll be effective. Stuff like BAD lever, which does not actually change the function of the stock pingpong paddle, and you can use it exactly the same way with or without it, is just "value added" IMO. The fact that now a lot of firearm OEs are making ambi-bolt catch receivers, including KAC with their SR-15/16/25/M110, means they see the value of being able to manipulate bolt from both side. BAD lever costs next to nothing compare to the cost of a new receiver....

If Magpul stuff is expensive for no reason and people are jumping on it, sure I can agree with you. But I see all the RS accessories, and most of the cheaper stuff are the Magpul stuff, and they are good quality and works as advertised, I don't see why not to use them....
