CA M24 paint project

After growing some balls, I have taken the leap forward and decided to paint my CA M24. After tons of research and questions, I felt confident to proceed.

I lightly sanded, then de-greased the rifle and accessories - then taped everything off. That took a solid two days of prep work. I hung the rifle stock, receiver/barrel and bipod in the air using coat hangers and hooks to get a good 360 spray angle and drying area. The flip-up covers and sling swivels I anchored using nails and a scrap piece of wood so they wouldn't fly away when being sprayed. For the bolt handle and end-cap, I used four bricks to hold the stem in place and vertical. The scope I held vertical by hand and sprayed it by turning it, then let it dry. The bottom of the mags were simply sprayed and let to dry.

I have applied two solid coats (two cans of Krylon tan camo paint each) letting each coat dry for two hours in-between. My next step is to let everything dry over night, then assemble the rifle with all the accessories mounted and in place. I plan to give it a couple light spot-sprays of Krylon brown camo paint using a laundry bag to create a snake-skin effect.
