Am I way off something here?
Up until I read this thread I would have sworn that "regular mini" 8.4v packs were 7 cells (1.2v each) (7 x 1.2v = 8.4v? right?). Configured like this sh*tty diagram:

and that 9.6v minis were often configured in two rows of 4 cells (8 total = 9.6v). Like this:

I think what Stalker meant was to take one cell out of the 8 cell pack and turning another one over sideways to make it into a regular 7 cell (8.4v) mini pack.
And most MP5 handguards still fit a 8.4v 1600 mAh mini?
Like the guys said...splitting away some of the packing/casing might help. You can reconfigure the pack in serial any way you want...as long as you have good joints and don't short anything out.
