The outer barrel is mechanically simple. I have swapped them between TM, KJ, and other brands that are TM compatible easily.
I can use KJW 226 mags in a TM 226. The other way around - they are a tight fit but ultimately do work. The KJ frame is just tighter around the mag and the clearances are a bit different. They can be modified to work but not worth the effort, just buy the KJW 1 piece mags. The reason that TM has 2-piece mags is that they were originally designed for lower pressure duster and not greengas/propane. KJW can take much more pressure but I would recommend swapping the o-rings. I have done this to my KJW mags since the ones from factory are seemingly badly chosen, they are the wrong gauge. I put thicker ones in there and it improved performance and stopped all leaking issues completely - even if i leave the mags unoiled and unfilled with gas for weeks.
Buy the VFC threaded barrel because the threads can separate from the actual outer barrel. That way you can leave the threaded part on the silencer so that when you take it off, the gun looks flat and doesn't have a part sticking out of it - sort of like the silencers you see in movies.
