What glow sight should I use with WE Tech M1911 MEU?

Hi all!

I bought a new WE Tech M1911 MEU and I want to install a
glow sight cause the one it has inside is not visible in darkness
or under a shadow.
Did a little search in ehobbyasia redwolf and ebairsoft but found
nothing.Where should I look and what kind of sight would you
suggest me?

Thank you in advance!

Check Trijicon's (makers of ACOG) website, they have Tritium sights for the 1911. You will need to get them within Canada though as they are a bastard to ship cross border, due to the Tritium being a radioactive substance.

From what I know you can't mount the Trijocon sights on an airsoft 1911 variant. Reason being the room that is taken by the blowback unit does not accomodate the Trijicon sights.

Wasnt there a thread about those night sights you apply yourself to the existing sight? The adhesive ones?

Yup, or you could make them yourself.

HERE's the link where it was discussed.

WE-Tech 1911/MEU's do NOT have removable front sights. As far as I know, the rear sight is not compatible with anything else (though the combat sights from the TM Hi Capa 4.3 look awfully familiar, I'm 90% sure they aren't a drop-in fit).

Your best bet would be adding adhesive dots or strips or what-have-you. A little bit of glow-in-the-dark paint, or the link that Slono posted to you (Papabois is the OP) would do the trick too. Note that you should probably read through Papabois' thread, and in doing so you will realize that the fibre optic rods don't actually do that great of a job in the dark. They apparently work great in dim/shady conditions, but if there is no light, they're worse than using the three-dot sights, which I'm pretty sure exist on the WE version of the MEU. Personally, I love the three-dots, as they work just fine in any daytime, dawn, or dusk lighting conditions.

If you really, really NEED night sights, go with a different GBB. Dytac (did I spell that right?) makes drop-in night sights for the KSC Glock series as well as the TM P226's. If they're just a hankering of yours (yup, they are for me too), ignore it until you've tried out a variety of GBB shapes, sizes and manufacturers - then find sights to match. The WE platform doesn't really allow for many external upgrades, as its partially based upon the TM Hi-Capa, while drawing on a few design elements from single stacked WA's; this means that finding replacement/aftermarket parts that are drop-in fits is a bitch to do. Trust me, I've spent the past year and half looking into aftermarket parts and accessories - as it turns out TM Hi-Capa internals mostly work, but parts that are shared externally include the slide (with non-removable front sight post), slide stop (sort of, the stock TM one doesn't engage when a magazine is empty), and barrel (1911-type). Good luck with your search for compatible night sights - you'll need it.

Edit: sorry, I sort of rambled on about compatible/non-compatible parts... the search for finding drop-in parts has been driving me nuts recently, as there really aren't many. Even loading nozzles aren't a drop in fit, in my experience. And there are just way too many unique parts to the WE design to allow for utilizing aftermarket replacement parts most of the time - argh, but maybe I'm just frustrated because I really, really enjoy tinkering and have recently hit a brick wall in terms of potential solutions.

Like juicy said, I would either go with adhesive glow-in-the-dark dots that I got and highly recommend to others, or get some glow-in-the-dark paint marker.

Its a bit difficult to buy from Canada cause I am from Greece:D:D:D
Thank you for your time though!

Regarding the "build it yourself" thread I have to say that its the 1st I saw
but I can't find the glowing piece here...Gunsmithing is not as spread as is
in the States or Canada and some parts are difficult to find or even impossible.

I will give a try with the glow adhesive dots that seem to be good.

Thank you all for your time and your help!
