Canadian Forces Metal Body?
I'm going to custom build a M4. Well I should say C7 ;). I'd like to know where to get that Canadian Forces metal body. I have someone painting the buttstock handgaurd and Elcan (as soon as I buy it) OD.
I intend to drop a Systema drop in gear box with M130 in it. |
Your best best is to get a blank receiver and then have somebody engrave it it for you. I can't think of any manufacturers that actually make an engraved one.
-edit I am proven wrong :) |

Says right beside the image it's made by Saber.
Guarder made one many, many moons ago. It needed a lot of machining to get a gearbox to seat properly. One of the old retailers that was bringing them in was remachining them before sale. These ones are the same ones Huang was bringing in a while ago. |
Gaurder makes a C8 body I believe, I think D-boy does too.

Hey;
Does anyone know where to get a C8 metal lower reciever for a KJW M4 GBB (the one at 007airsoft.com) Please let me know. Thanks; Kyle |
Never had to machine out the Guarder C8 Bodies I used. I have the Gen 1, and Duffman has a Gen 2. The only issues the Guarder Bodys had was with King Arms Magazines and PMags, One would have to modify the magazine to get it to seat snugly.
I beleive G&P also made a limited run for a period of time too. Dboys bodies have tons of issues. Unless your looking for some cheap low quality crap with countless fitment, quality control issues and magazine issues. I would avoid it like the plague. Most people tend to get a blank receiver or laser engraved like King Arms or Classic Army, remove the laser engraving and have it engraved with Canadian Trades. But really, for guarder and g&p, good luck finding one. You might get lucky, but the chances of you finding one is less than zero. Darklen, I think thats a Dboys, DragonRed is Huang's Supplier, and the C8 Bodies he brought in were Dboys. Though I could be wrong. Only Huang would know for sure lol. |

From what I've gathered, if you're going to go rail-less, you'll need the thinner hand-guards (like on the M733 as opposed to the M4)
Since you have to buy new handguards anyways... I'd see if they were available in OD instead of painting them. |
Make sure you get the body with the maple leaf!

The issued stock is always the original M4 4-position one. Black for all except the A3, which is OD. Rubber buttpads are issued too and often used, so you might want to pick one of those up too. Guarder stocks come with them, but they can be a bit hard to find. I've also seen Vltor carbine modstocks used a bit. http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=21413 http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=17698 Handguards are like Amos said, M733 sized if you're non-railed, KAC RAS usually if you are using rails. But since a rail system isn't issued you can sort of do whatever you want there. Barrel on the C8 and C8A1 is thin like the M655, but it widens right near the muzzle. The M655 barrel will do unless you have access to a metal lathe and are really going into detail. The G&P M655 set comes with the proper handguards too, so if that's the way you're going you can kill two birds with one stone. http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=15929 The barrel for the A3 and SFW is the special Diemaco (Colt Canada now I guess) heavy barrel. Dragonredairsoft has a steel one, which is pretty good quality. http://218.246.34.189/airsoft/viewPr...roductID=26356 Flash hider is the regular M4/M16A2 birdcage design. http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...l?prodID=26962 (you'll need counter clockwise threading, at least for the heavy barrel) Oh, and on the C8A3 all of the furniture is olive drab, so the stock, pistol grip, and handguards (if you don't have a rail system) should be OD. A member posted his in the Canadian section under themed airsoft. The controls on the A3 and SFW are usually ambidextrous (magazine catch and fire select, not bolt catch), but I've heard it's optional. Charging handle has this giant ambidextrous latch as well, but I think some guys switch it for a regular latch because it catches on everything. The C8A3 in the Canadian section has the ambidextrous latch if you want reference pictures, but I don't know where he got it. Some of our members who serve could probably correct any bad information I've given if they find something. Hope this helps! EDIT: Just read you wanted a C7, in which case it's basically a 20 inch M16A2 barrel along with all the ambidextrous stuff and birdcage flash hider. Pistol grip goes OD too, and you might want a triad rail mount attached to the front sight. PEQ-II or PAQ-IV on the triad, and a small rail on the lower handguard with a Cadex folding grip. And a Diemaco BUIS if you can find one. Again, this is only if you want to go into psychotically extensive detail. :p |
Thanks for the info Gabe! This is going to help very much when I complete my whole loadout. I so far have CADPAT, a LBV and am building this rifle slowly.
