mp5 fuse holder broke?
 

ok so my battery in my mp5 handgaurd is a tight fit. so i was putting my battery in and i may have pushed a little to hard. i hear a snap...fuck. i look and theres the black plastic oval shaped cover over the fuse i believe thats what it is. the threaded part snapped off and in 2 peices so i have no way of holding the two wires together, thus the fuse is not touching the metal thus sending no electricity to the gun from the battery. if i hold it together it still fires. but it is a pain in the ass to somehow tape because of the springs and what not there is too much resistance. So does anyone know how to fix this. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

cut off the fuse holder clips. twist wires together. solder. wrap with electrical tape or use heat shrink.

I'm assuming you're running stock internals with the stock mini battery. You don't 100% need the fuse. It's more of peace of mind but if a stock mini is going to do damage, it's because of something else.

solder the wires on the fuse or get a new fuse holder from a local electronic part supplier or tape it together...lol

what coaster said is also a valid option... only if you're not running lipo (can be hazardous)

Fuses are only needed with LiPo batteries, other normal batteries they really serve no purpose except to annoy users.

Fuses are not required with LiPo batteries, as much as they are not required with "regular" batteries.

If you choose not to use a fuse, don't use a fuse.

If you use a fuse, use the right fuse, and carry spares.

then im confused lol. i thought that the fuse like transfered the energy from the battery to the gun. so if i take the fuse out and the spring and metal peice i just attach the wires together?

yes!

A fuse is just a piece of wire rated for a certain amount of current. That's it.

ok thanks. also i looked up soldering and i do not have that soldering pencil tool. is this a must step?

no.. just twist the wire tight and put tape on it... but soldering is nice when available.

just make sure that you twisted it in a manner that won't shake loose. also use several rounds of electrical tape and ensure your tape extends a few centimeters beyond the bare wire.

best would be to eventually solder it. find a friend that has one and make sure to heat the wire to sufficiently melt the solder. don't melt the solder with the iron and drip it on the wires. cold joints aren't good because they will break.

i didnt attatch the wires. on the ends there were metal pieces so i taped them together really tightly. Do you think it would be better to take them off and twist the wires and go that way?
