Name of the long spring found on top of the nozzle in a hi-capa?

I have a Marui hi-capa Xtreme that had a hard time firing more then 1 shot (realized the nozzle stayed in the hop-up sometimes due to a weak spring).

I need to replace the long thin spring located between the nozzle assembly (on top of it) and the slide. To order it, I need it's official name.

Anybody?

It doesn't really have a formal name. There should be a part number for it in the exploded diagram.

I just call it the nozzle return spring, not sure if thats the true nomenclature though

contact Illusion, he used to have them in stock

Yup, nozzle return spring, loading nozzle spring, etc.

I carry Hicapa spring sets, $18 each. Includes 150% recoil and hammer springs, and all the other little springs in a Hicapa.

So I need to buy a whole spring set to get that one?

Slide return spring

You could also just buy a BIC Large Lighter and pull the spring out of that. :|

Works for a Cappa 5.1, can't see why it wont work for a Xtreme, costs $1 and 10 minutes of your time. Give it a shot.

Doesn't really work. The spring will compress over time. Also, because the way the Xtreme is short stroked, the nozzle probably gets caught up on the next bb, preventing him from firing more than 1 shot at a time.

No it's not for the slide. It's the nozzle return spring.

pusangani September 22nd, 2009 02:34

who told you to replace it? is it missing? are you sure the nozzle isn't catching on the slide, is it an upgraded slide?

It also cannot be the spring that gets weaker, it can be your o-ring or nozzle that is having the problem. If it stays forward, have you tried lube? Did you use the silicone oil while using propane?

It does sound like a problem with the nozzle and return spring guys. My Hicapa had problems with the nozzle sticking because the spring was slightly damaged, so I straightened it out and stretched it out, and now it works a lot more reliably and doesn't stick.

Here's the detailled breakdown for all you helpful people :

The Xtreme would only fire 1 BB at a time and I would have to manually re-cock the gun to fire 1 more BB. I saw that the nozzle stayed stuck in the hop-up rubber so that would explain why it doesn't cycle and shoots anyother BB. Yes, lube helped it but I decided to find out why it stayed stuck. Usually springs should eb powerful enough to avoid that no?

I opened the pistol and saw that the long "nozzle return spring" is kinked/bent in the middle (it's kinda lightning shaped when you take it out of the pistol if you see what I mean).

Realizing that this might be a weakness in the Xtreme (with such a high rof it's bound to happen maybe) I wanted to buy 2-3 springs as backups.

***edit- see SAFX's post...or order the whole spring kit***

I just gave Pusangani my last spare...sorry.

Ask him for one though...he should have a spare now....

I don't know about the extreme...but you don't need one in a regular hicapa. But you do then need to make sure that you're getting a full recoil stroke with the slide. If you short stroke it and don't have the spring...you'll have loading problems. ;) If there's other issues with your pistol...having one in there might help...don't know.

If I find a spare I'll send you a PM.

I think we used a Bic Lighter spring in ShelledPant's Hicapa? Didn't we? Can't remember if it was from a small or large bic (think it's a small...that's the size of lighter I carry now and I think that's why). We needed to stretch it out a bit and cut it to length.
