My first thoughts about the famas was that it looked almost like an LMG and one of the only things separating it from a LMG is it's mag cap, so now I'm a support gunner and the Bi-pod was really a selling point as well as being a bullpup and shooting 466FPS(w/.12) 385FPS (w/.20) as well as it's price ($250 CDN) the bi-pod is very strong and sturdy and the sight has about 4 different modes, A Flip-up sight for when prone supported,60m Sight 30m Sight, 10m Sight, the only three issues with this gun is the battery housing compartment can be difficult to open if you don't know how (yes i read the instructions about 30 times) and the magazine reservoir is hard to open i have to use a screw driver to open it but that's aright because the pistol grip is hollow (but still strong) and can hold a small tool kit and also the fire selector is located under the stock behind the magazine and i think that it is an odd spot to place it except when in prone position it's easily accessed.but all and all this is a good gun and i would recommend it to players that are looking for great bang for there buck. * Means that those specifications may differ because of the following: model/version/modification/battery power/weather conditions/Year/Age/Condition/Province/Country, as well as retailer.

It's probably worth clarifying (since there's no mention of it in the original post) that this is the Cybergun FAMAS F1 (probably a licensed rebrand of the CYMA FAMAS).

Perhaps most disappointing, since this is a recently developed gun, is they didn't include the STANAG mag well; being able to use the commonly available M16 mags would be a huge plus.

Can a RS FAMAS use STANAG mags?

only thing i know is the alleged "FPS "on the box cover is bullshit!!!!!!!!

Ripperman79 August 31st, 2009 22:32

nope i took it to my local paint ball field and used the FPS counter thingy and it said 458FPS on the highest recorded for .12 and the highest recorded for .20's is 387FPS

On my BMOQ we had a guy who had served in the French Mountain Division he said that the magazines were compatible but they were advised to stay away from other nations magazines because for some reason France's 5.56mm are actually slightly smaller then other NATO countries, still usable but will eventually cause interior damage.

Wow that's a pretty nice gun. How much was it?

I miss my FA-MAS. Only piece of airsoft kit I sold that I actually regret selling.
