After using your GBB....
 

So what do you do if you're done using your GBB? Do you put it back in the box or would you recommend getting a cheap plastic case with some foam inside to protect the gun.

I also filled the magazine up with gas and BBs, but only shot twice before I had to do something else. Is it terrible to leave it like that overnight? I'll be tinkering with it again in the morning so it won't be in there for too long. Perhaps 7-9 hours max.

Leaving a little gas isn't too bad but leaving mags loaded with bb's isn't advisable. The few hours won't hurt but be aware you don't leave them in too long.

I lock my guns up. For my GBB mags I always leave a bit of propane in them so that the seals don't dry up and leak. I also always unload my mags.

Everyone has different opinions about how much gas you should leave in a GBB mag.

Me? I put about 2 or 3 seconds of gas in them.

I think i remember Stalker saying something about why we should keep our mags completely full.

Should or shouldn't keep the mags completely full? And you are referring to the state of the magazine while you store it right?

Never store them with BB's in them, But as for gas? Make sure there is a little gas in them. How much gas? Everyone seems to have a different opinion

Survey Says! A little gas is required to maintain the seals integrity. Leave the bb's out unless your actually using the gun.

I store my mags with a full shot of gas.

However -- If I ever forget to store 'em with a full shot... I've found that they start leaking (KSC USP mags)

Buuut now I'm using TM Meu mags.. so no problems :)

If you use them regularly (I probably use mine at least once every 3 days or so)...it doesn't really matter. So I'll leave them fully filled, partially filled, almost empty or empty. They've been solid for years now...but that's with regular use.

If you're going to put them away for a couple of weeks between games...fill them up completely and fire off 3-5 "dry" shots (where there's no BBs in the mag) in a safe direction (i.e. behave as if a BB is going to shoot out).

If you're oiling your mags/gas, that will do two important things:
1. It will ensure that there isn't a BB stuck in the chamber that you'll forget about
2. It will blow a bit of oil up into the workings of the pistol, lubing the seals/o-rings in the slide (they dry out/harden too).

After "taking the edge" off of the gas pressure in the mag...store them somewhere safe. Not around anything flammable, not in direct sunlight (it'll raise gas pressure), not where anyone else is going to mess with them (or where you're going to loose them and be running around in a panic getting ready for the next game).

Never put BBs into the mag until you're ready to shoot. If you need to stop for a while before you've emptied the mag and can't shoot anymore....simply rack the slide manually a bunch of times until it's empty...it'll knock all the BBs out. Then dry fire 3-5 times (to clear the chamber)...and put it away somewhere safe.

Magazine gas question
 

I have another question that many of you can probably answer and I don't want to make a new thread because I'll be spamming ;)

If you fire all the BBs in your hi capa (or whatever GBB pistol), and there's still gas left in the magazine, do you have to use all the gas in your mag before filling it back up? I only have 1 mag and to keep fps almost exact, I like to try to keep the gas levels high. So when I finish the BBs in my mag and I still got gas left, I fill it to the top and then refill the BBs.

To reiterate, I'm wondering if it'll damage the mag in any way by topping it while it still has about half of a mag of gas left.

You can top them up whenever you like.

How do you "empty your mag" without firing it? I know you could poke the BBs from the top of the mag, or rack it without firing it. Which option is better? Are there other ways of doing it?

If you rack the slide manually over and over...it will "kick out" the bbs one after another and they'll dribble out the barrel (tilt it down).

There is still the risk that the last BB will be still stuck in the chamber of the pistol (in fact, both of my pistols will hold the last bb if I rack the slide over and over to empty the mag).

So..it's safest if you just simply shoot until the mag is empty of bbs (not necessarily empty of gas)..and you're sure there isn't a bb in either the mag nor the chamber.
