Kraken Aftermath AK-47 Should i Buy it?

My pal is selling his Kraken AK-47 From aftermath because he wants an MP5 with the same specifications,I'm not spending a whole lot of money on a new gun and I've used this gun more then once and there is nothing wrong with it it's less than a year old with a good battery but i don't like the winder mag and i want to buy a med cap mag that i don't have to wind, and I'm getting it for about $120 so i was thinking about buying a wood conversion kit (handle, stock, fore grip) from air splat and a new battery or 2 but i can't find a silencer or a med cap or even low magazines that ARE NOT WIND FED.I use "Koren Competition" 0.36 polished ammo that gives me 427 FPS

427 with .36??? That's like 570 fps with .2. No way a Kraken can hit that kind of velocity dude. At least not stock. And it's definitely not game-legal.

And FYI, there is no such thing as a "wind-up" low or mid cap magazine. Only mags that you wind up are high-caps.

ehobby, ebbanned, other Asian retailers, or Canadian retailers for mags.

That's probably a overstatement of FPS. If it's working fine it's either going to fail soon due to the extra stress or it's not shooting that hot.

Suppressors should be bought from within Canada (you should be able to find them through "regular" channels) as customs doesn't really like suppressors.

Do yourself a favour and downgrade the spring to an M120 at most, preferably an M110 or M100 to take the stress off the gun.

If your looking for real caps or mid cap mags anything TM compatible will work in a kraken. If you just want a supressor for the looks you should have no problem finding one locally but if your getting one in hopes it will make the gun quieter it won't you need to silence the mec box. Get AV'd and ckeck the retailers or classified sections and itwill make your life easier and cheaper!

427 fps with .36? Umm nope, But if it's a stock Kraken it's worth the buy. I get killed by them all the time.

I believe sorbo pads go a long way in reducing mechbox noise, it also cushions it so your gun will last longer/be more reliable.

I play at long range and I'm mainly a sharpshooter but I'm not worried about a sniper. I found out you can get KJ Works Battery Wound Hi-Cap mags for about $40 and the gear box is highly maintained and the polished ammo is easier on the motor then .20 Bio ammo. and the motor is MK.2, but the question i thought would be easiest answered with a you tube link, how do i remove the fore grip with out trashing the gun or the grip? Fore grip = Lower front grip (were you would place your hand while firing)

Just want to say i know that there are no such thing as wind fed low/med cap mags i just don't want a hi-cap because of the winding so i was just trying to say it could be hi-cap just no wound fed, and if so be it by battery. BTW the motor is not stock, it's the farthest thing from it and that's why it shoots lower because its modified so i don't cut holes in people but the rate of fire is still above average

remove fake cleaning rod by pulling it downward then sliding it forward, it will reveal a screw under the gas block, unscrew this screw and then slide the gas block forward the grips should come off right away

edit: kj work makes battery hicaps ??? link?

I have the mp5 form aftermath. Honestly its a good cheap starter gun. Basically it boils down to your play style. Btw.... basspro.com sells the kraken new for 149.99 and your buddy wants $120 for a used, common gun? Hmmmm.

pictures of you cronoing at that speed? Be prepared to be booted off many a field.

Ripperman79 May 27th, 2009 21:44

it's not on a web site i live in an area where army navy can custom order them for me and they told me that its KJ works. Thanks for help with the Foregrip:D
