From what I've seen holding one, yes, they're very solid guns.

I'm somewhat excited by these; we want at least one guy in our group to get a "bad guy" gun, to be used whilst wearing a track suit jacket, soccer jersey, and shemagh, so this looks like a fine, affordable choice. I'm assuming it will be compatible with at least one of the wood kits out there for AKs.

A plastic one might not be so solid. My comment is only valid for the regular metal bodied one.

I have one of G&G's Cansoft M4s, and it feels quite solid; the AK should be similar, as it is just the lower receiver that's plastic (besides the fake wood or synthetic stock, grip, and handguard) with a metal upper receiver.
