Quality Mags

Can anyone give me an objective list of mid-cap mag brands that are G&G compatable. I was looking at Mag, King Arms and Star.

Crunchmeister March 28th, 2009 16:16

I use King Arms lowcaps pretty exclusively. Some people seem to need to modify the feed lip to get them to work properly, but I've never had any issue with any Armalite I've used them in, including a TM M4, CA M15 (mine and a friend's), JG HK416, a friend's JG M4, or my custom C8A2. They've all fed reliably without any issue. Although I haven't tried them with any G&G gun, G&G are take standard TM compatible mags, so I don't think they'd be a problem. I'm assuming that the KA midcaps will be the same as the lowcaps, only with different internals.

STAR midcaps are known to split open at the top, I have never had a problem with MAG or King Arms midcaps but I can never get King Arms metal lowcaps to feed at all in my ICS guns.

My STAR Mags and King Arms mags are all feeding flawlessly so far, solid build.

Ok then tanks for the info. One more question about a battery. I want to put the Magpul MOE foregrip and it says it can hold a 9.6v battery. The foregrip the m4 comes with says it uses a mini, but ken at 007airsoft suggested a nunchuck type for the new fore grip. Which type is more reliable as to regard with playing time?

Mini and nunchuck are configurations that can both use the same sized cells, so there's no real difference in performance providing the cells are the same.

It's very difficult to predict battery performance, due to variations in gun tuning and playing style. I've had my 9.6v 1500mah peter out towards the end of a near-freezing day, after approximately 1200rds.

It doesn't really matter what format the battery is in, but if you're looking for more play time, go for more Mah. But make sure you pick a battery that will fit your new MOE.

STAR realcaps or STAR midcaps? The realcaps are great, the midcaps have a fairly high failure rate based on my experience and the experience of several other local players in Ottawa.

King Arms mags are great for anything except ICS from what I have read.

There are STAR Midcaps- AK-47 105 rounders to be exact. Only had them for about a week, from Styrak but so far they are holding up. And for $15 a pop, I'd say they are worth every penny.

So just to verify before I make the order because there are no refunds will this battery fit in the MOE?

Sorry for all the questions but I would rather look like an ass than buy a useless product.

It should theoretically but cell sizes vary even within the same "size." It is the proper battery according to the specs but there is a small chance it wont fit right, quite small but its there.
