New Spring

Hey, I'm thinking of buying a G&G M4 Carbine (http://buyairsoft.ca/catalog/product...roducts_id=438) this spring, and am wondering about swapping out the spring. I have a Prometheus Non-Liner SPR MS 135 sp (that's what the package says). Would the mechbox be able to withstand the new spring? Would I have to buy any new parts? Is it an easy swap mechbox, or one where I have to open the whole thing to get at the spring? What kind of increase in FPS would I be expecting? Is it worth it to swap the spring?

Sorry for all the questions, I'd like to know about everything to expect.

If I missed anything, let me know.

You would get about 380 FPS - 390 FPS.
You would need to buy a large battery, and torque up kit.
Also, sorbo mask for the gearbox.

Dang, that's too much work for me. Thanks for the response though.

Leaving it up to 400 fps is outdoor. 350fps is max for indoors, talk to the hosts in yor local field.
If it's too much work, ask a local gun doctor.. It's not that hard to install a gearbox together.

I'm not even sure if G&G can handle the power, even though it says reinforced.

If this is a new G&G gun, that you are buying I would suggest you tear the mechbox apart, clean all the components, reshim the box and relube.

Thanks guys for the input. I'll definitely look into both of those things. I've only ever opened up old plastic gearboxes, and at this point I don't trust myself to be tinkering around with a brand new metal one. If I do decide to upgrade the spring I'll buy whatever is needed and take it to a shop to get it done.

Thanks again!
