Daniels Defense RIS

Does anyone have one? and know what style of threading is required for fitment.

Reason why i ask, is that I have a G&P body that was rethreaded and want to know if it will fit. Normally nothing fits G&P but G&P...

EDIT:

I intend on buying the Madbull liscenced version (SOCOM GEAR)

Which version of the RIS are you looking at? Is it the Daniel Defense MK18 which G&P and EbayBanned make? Or one of the new madbull licensed ones (I think these are replicas of the DD AR Light rail)?

My G&P MK18 replica came with the modified barrel nut, and screwed right onto my G&P and King Arms body (although I had to dremel the crap out of the KA to give the screws clearance). The Ebay Banned one should attach similarly but I can't comment on if the threading is the same or not.

The Ebaybanned one does NOT fit on my Guarder New Gen C8 body, I can tell you that much.

I'm not sure if it's the same thread as the G&P.

If it's been re-threaded for metric the SOCOM Gear (Mad Bull) DD rails will fit.

Just got this beast in. I love it. Problem.

As stated. TM M4S (original gun) with Hurricane metal body kit on gun. The upper was rethreaded and the Hurricane Delta/omega nut fit perfectly onto the gun.

HOWEVER,

The DD Delta Nut will only go down about 3 rotations before becoming jammed. Did i receive a clone DD RIS (I ordered the Liscenced product from airsoft global, The trades were covered with a sandpaper like tape)?

I'm going to break out the rethreading tool and recut/refinish the threading on the body. Any other ideas?

G&P is threaded like a real AR. A real DD rail would fit.

Airsoft rails are generally metric, unless they are meant for G&P. You will have to re-cut your threads with that Madbull tool.

I did cut the G&P body with the tool already, If I had known that I should have bought a RS DD RIS i would have.

It may still be usable. The Thread pitch between the metric and Imperial are close, really close. Sometimes it's just a matter of removing the paint, and both will fit.

I've cut a few PTW uppers this way, and all it took was a thread file and about 20 minutes of time.

Just refinished the cuts with the threading tool. The replacement omega nut appears to be threaded for imperial, the difference in pitch is the same thickness of the MM marking line on a standard SIU drafting ruler. But the Nut won't torque more than a 3rd down without a wrench, and at this point i'm not going to risk damage to the upper.

My friend has a Machine shop so i'm going to look modifying the replacement omega, failing that will cut the old omega not from the gun to function as needed.

Odd that "for airsoft use" happens to be compatable with RS. I think this is something manufacturers need to add to the product descriptions imperial or metric....

However, this product is really bitchin.
