1337 tactical or Huang for CIRAS?

So I'm planning on making an order pretty soon. It's a toss up between the land verison CIRAS from 1337 tactical for $240 or Huangs CIRAS http://www.dragonredairsoft.com/airs...roductID=24763

And advice?

I can vouch for the Phantom/Pantec vest from 1337, haven't tried the one from Huang.

you can be sure to have quality with pantac vest from 1337. though i don't know the quality of huang one's. we need somebody to come here that have one.

I can vouch for the quality of huang's 1000D CIRAS vests. easily on par with pantac, what more can I say.

there you go, you have the vouch on Huang's too so its all up to you now :P

the RAV seems weird though, but look like it is sturdy

The picture on dragon has a loose cable on on the pull pillow, this would be incorrect. For longevity I'm the third owner of my 2 year old Phantom/Pantec CIRAS and it doesn't have any pulled stitches even though it been used heavy.

Edit: I wouldn't go RAV. My friend has a Pantec Rav and it been nothing but a pain in the ass setting it up for him. The CIRAS is a thousand times easier to adjust to your own body type. The only place that I know of that ships the now renamed Phantom Recon (CIRAS) is http://www.wgcshop.com. They have several sizes and colors available. I'm a larger guy and my medium with large plates works great.

I have huangs and its pretty good quality. I'll vouche for it.

Skladfin June 4th, 2008 11:17

there's actually a brand called 1337?

huang June 4th, 2008 11:19

That's the quick release string that every CIRAS has. For sure you can hide it behide the shoulder pad.

No, 133tactical is a store name. It carries Phantom/Pantac.

I have a Phantom from 1337. Awesome stuff. If you have the money then go for the Phantom!

Check availability too, i was at 1337's recently and most of his Ciras's are cleaned out. Both Pantac and Huangs are 1000D but the Pantac ones are sized where as the Huang ones are 1sizefitsall.

I have the Phantom CIRAS and love it. I would be cautious of a one size fits all, if that is what is being sold.

Also something to think about, I am 5'10" and am 170lbs. I'm not a skinny guy, but I have my medium CIRAS at the tightest settings on almost all the straps. I put in some soft armor as well as the SAPIs and found that helped a bit. I guess if you can try it on first you can figure it out for yourself.
