Red dot scope
hey, Any of you remember my buyairsoft.ca scope prolem? Well, It came yesterday. But there is another problem. When I mount it, I make sure that it is firm and wont move. But when I look through to aim the red cross (dot) is to low. I have tried changing the windage and elevation but I cant crank it any further.
If you need more info then just ask. Here are some pics... http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/889/pic0195em7.jpg http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/8907/pic0197uo1.jpg |
how about a cantilever mount?

No, cantilever is raised about an inch higher than that, allows you to co-witness your front and rear sights with the reticle (sometimes).

Try getting something like this:
http://www.wgcshop.com/WGC_Shop/images/gp_acc_533.jpg I know Illusion has some in-stock at $35 IIRC. What it will do is allow you to raise the RDS high enough that the dot sees beyond the front sight, and at the same time enable you to be able to remove the sight with out needing any tools. |
Yes but is there any way for me to get this right withough spending money?
|
Don't think so.
|
DAMN IT! I waited forever for this thing.
|
What about any custom changes that could affect it?

Even if you managed to raise the dot via the ajustement knob, it would not be usefull as the point of aim would not necessarely be in relation with your point of impact.

uhh well I feel like an idiot now... :D Its my first RDS so....

Seriously, you dial in the red dot to the target vs, where the BBs are hitting. After that you only need to put the red dot on what you want to hit and the BBs go there. So you can remove both your front and rear sights, just use the RDS by itself (remember to remove the dust covers on the elevation/windage adjustments to get to the screw underneath, common noob mistake to turn the dustcovers when zeroing and finding no change) and you are good to go.
BTW, don't zero at anything less than 25ft, you will not be able to do it right. Zeroing above that will clear you past 100ft easy depending on BB weight (0.20g sucks ass for outside). |
