Battery Problem
 

hey guys iv been having problems with my battery im not getting many shots from it, only about 600. Its a 8.4 mini i usually charge it for 2.5 Hours it has always been fine at that time.

What kind of charger are you using? And are you sure the problem is with the battery (Ie, test in another gun?)

I used it in my TM m4. I have a chine es type charger but got a power converter so i dont no it that would be the problem.

First of all, I recommend not using the chinese charger. They are notoriously piesces of shit.

Second, how/why did you discharge the battery?

Third, is it NiMh or NiCad, and forth, what rate does that charger charge at?

i have a TM discharger it is a NiMh dont no how to tell the charge rate

It is advised to not discharge NiMH.

Well you see that depends on the charge rate. It should say somewhere on the shitty charger "Output: 9v DC 200mah" or some crap like that.

And yea, don't discharge NiMah, you're likely to cause damage to the battery and it's not necessary. If it doesn't say the charge rate anywhere on the charger (in which case it's a REALLY shitty charger) charge it until the battery is warm to the touch.

If it does say that charge rate, multiply it by 80% and divide the battery's Mah by that result. For example, if it is a 200mah charger and a 600mah battery: 0.8x200 = 160; 600 / 160 = 3.75. Charge for 3 hours and 45 minutes. (Anyone feel free to correct me if I did this wrong...). Or, you can charge till it's warm. Ideally they should be about the same amount of time.

My best advice is to spend the $60 on a not shitty charger.

just buy a good charger and you dont have to worry about how long to charge it for... i fried my first battery with the charger that came wih my gun, then i bought 1 from scarecrow(bbasdards) never a problem again just plug it in and wait for the light to turn green....

Go to your local hobby store, there should be some less expensive smart chargers for $40 or less.

i got 5.5 hours so ill do it tomorrow and see what happends thanks ill also buy a new charger would have got 1 awhile ago but spent money on my glocks

why 80%?

IIRC, Ni-Mah chemestry retains about 75-80% of the power put into it to charge it.

The JG factory chargers charge at a rate of 300mah. 300 goes into 1100 almost 4 times, taking into account the standard 20% loss on a JG ni-mh batteries charging for 4.5 hours should be just about perfect.
