Buy an SL 8 and a can of white Krylon?

kalnaren March 31st, 2008 08:21

The star one is a light gray, and will run you about $1,200. The CA one is a dark charchol, and will run you about $800. If you want a white one, you'll have to use krylon or something.

Edit: Sorry, I used Canadian prices. Cut those in half (400 and 600) and that's probably what you're looking at.

so the one in that pic is actually grey? it really looks white
i dont think spray painting would be a great idea. i have that krylon plastic paint for our orange tips, the kind that bonds with plastic and it only coats the outer layer and still can be rubbed off. also it gets gummy from the oils in your skin
if its actually grey and not white then ive already seen it on ebay

The one in the picture is a real H&K SL-8, not an airsoft gun. And it is a very light grey, not white.

The airsoft one, at least the CA, is this colour: (this is a G36, but the SL8 is basically the same)

Here's an intresting read on the real SL8.
http://www.hkpro.com/sl8.htm

There was a company a couple years ago that was rumored to be doing a white german SL8, but I never heard anything more from them. Right now all that exist is the Star, CA and china clones of it.

Get any SL8

Paint white with any acrylic based paint
Apply 2 thin coats of Krylon flat clear coat.

Voila!

kalnaren March 31st, 2008 12:31

Then get a CA SL-8 and put a long rail on it like I did with the G36.

i just hope that when i get my ca g36 gearbox in the mail i can put it together and itll work cuz then its no worries cept for the hop up. im hoping that as long as i leave the hop untightened it wont mess it up. i really dont wanna go through trying to put on together

Seriously dude... just spend the money on a good airsoft gun.

Don't do that.

SHaKaL March 31st, 2008 20:39

Silicone oil not gun oil

dodger_me March 31st, 2008 20:43

"Unjammer Stick"
I lol'ed
You want to use silicone then remove the excess

SHaKaL March 31st, 2008 20:44

Gun oil will attack your hopup rubber (and is nasty to anything plastic)
