KSC usp .45 any good?
 

is the ksc usp .45 any good upgrade wise, durablility wise and accuracy wise?

I can only say that the accuracy "SUCKED" even with all the upgrades... I really wasn't too keen on the KSC hop-up system. TM's are much better!
This is the only reason why I sold it when I had one, otherwise it was a great "LOOKING" gun!

Mine shoots a little bit straight and range is alright. Just waiting for a tightbore and see if accuracy will increase.

i love mine. i had a ksc glock 23 and it felt small in my hands, so i got a USP .45 and it fits great. the usp is ABS only which i was a little disappointed about because my glock is HW, which feels really ridgid and strong. Thats not to say that the usp isnt, it just feels a lot more "toyish". Trades, molding and overall finish of the gun are top notch so ill move on to the performance.

i got my usp .45 (tw) from a&a brand new in the summer. i put about 4 mags through it to test it out / piss around with my new toy. after which i went up to my girlfriends cottage and deiced to really put it through its paces and work it in.

first we fired about 6-8 mags off of the dock to adjust the hop up and test the range, i cant really recall it exactly but id estimate the range to be in the area of 60-70 feet with an effective range of 45-50 feet. after that we pretty much had it shooting straight so we moved on to some target practice. i didn't really have anything planned in ways of accuracy testing, so we just set up random objects and varying distances and tried to pick them off. for airsoft purposes the gun was pretty accurate, don't expect to shoot olives out of a martini at 100 feet, but shooting at center mass within decent ranges will yield positive results. we did that for a good while and when all was said and done we put almost 22+ mags through the gun. this is where target practice was cut short. after shooting that many rounds with propane, the gun had its first failure. the section under the slide that retained the recoil rod had completely snapped off, allowing the slide to jam itself 1cm farther back than its suppose to. the reason is because a: plastic slide and propane on ANY gun usually = not fun, and b: unlike the ksc glock 23, the usp does not have a metal plate reinforcing the front section.

so IMO the usp is a great gun, its big, beefy and shoots resonably. this gun makes you more of a man :), and if you treat it well then it will be good to you, but if you plan on propane, go with a metal slide.

you can see the two notches in the metal frame reenforcement, just to the left of the screw. that is what stops the slide from recoiling farther. it seem that is what caused the front section to snap (in conjunction with the propane)

This is the Glock slide, notice the metal plate reinforcing the front of the slide. this is absent from the USP.

Got a KSC USP45 with a metal slide and barrel and I absolutely love this baby. As those of you who watch the Classifieds, I've just sold many of my guns yet I'm still keeping that USP. If you want a gun that looks amazing, the USP is definitely the way to go. Performance wise, I don't know since I've fired only one or two mags in my basement just to test it.

so how does the USP stack up to the MK 23 (keeping in mind that we are talking about the KSC version of both guns)? I would imagine that the MK 23 would shoot farther and more accurately. It is interesting that you mention about the guide rod snapping. I have heard that there have been teh same issues in the MK 23.

i have a KSC USP only things thats stock are the mags valves and the inner barrel. with the metal slide its a beast firing it on propane it loud as hell people know when m USP is being shot. personally great gun stock once you get the metal slide and upgraded springs propane is basically a must.

I picked up a used KSC USP Compact here used with a metal slide and I liked it so much I ordered a full size Tanaka new.

Now to semi jack and further beat the dead horse, will KSC or KWA compatible metal slides fit the Tanaka?

And for a note of dissent on the accuracy I'd say the change between the Compact, Full Size, and MK23 would be negligible for snap shooting.
