Low Profile SMG Chest Rig

I am looking for what the title says. BPG use to make a SMG chest rig but they have long stopped, I am looking for something like that. Low profile, holds maybe 6 mags or more. Not looking for a rifle rig like the BPG CCH which can hold Mp5 mags, rather I am looking specifically for a rig meant for SMG mags, if you guys can think of some, please post.

a + b

The best high quality, "low profile" option.

'Course, you could choose a different vest. I'm looking into the FAPC with cummerbund myself.

Thanks for your help! but I was looking for real tactical requipment, not replicas

A. is a vest made specifically for M4 mags, and airsoft for that matter
B. is just a mag pouch, I need a rig, not a mag pouch.

No offence mate, but associating this type of gear with 'best quality' is slightly humorous :-D

the 204 stuff is high quality. I've talked to guys who are happy with their 204 gear - myself included.

Concerning "a"? I have no reason to believe this vest would be of low quality. It's not made for M4 mags - it just comes with some shingles. The whole point of modular is that basicly any vest can be adapted to the wearers needs (within reason). Thus, removing the M4 pouches and adding the modular MP5 pouches would provide a barebones SMG setup.

I'll give you one thing though, I suggested a vest as opposed to a chest rig 8)

EDIT: This option is especially good considering the price to performance ratio

I picked up a base LBV-E and added my own pouches (M4) to get away from the CIRAS, Wasatch and chestrig fit. I also wanted low profile and low weight, lots of freedom of movement. It's also easy to put on and take off and it will be a big improvement for CQB events.

The LBV-E should be able to accomodate 12 SMG mags no problem as it will hold 8 single M4.

Just a thought if you're looking for a different fit.

yuxi,
you may not like this idea cause i know you love gear made for the task, not the ghettoness i like!

But a Bullet proof vest, Works very well. The kind that has two wraps around the belly, i beleive the seal vest.

I was able to carry about 4-6 Mp5 mags in it, and was able to draw them very quickly, by leaving a bit of the top out of the band.
Very low profile, and i liked it for those games where it was too hot to wear anything, but needed to carry at least 7 mags onto the field with me.

I used to use a blackhwk chest harness like this Eagle versionhttp://www.eagleindustries.com/ProdDisp.asp?PartNoID=42 but with MP5 pouches, same build but has 2 times as many pouches. all of eagles vests in the online store have an area where it saws "firearm". so iam assuming they will have no problems making you an MP5 version. think your best option would be to get something custom made by one of the big manufacturers.

How much does one run? I think the expired kevlar ones are cheaper right?

Wasn't gonna mention it since it isn't really what Yuxi was asking for, but since everyone is going off on tangents...

Eagle does make a shoulder-slung low-profile MP5 mag carrier

Otherwise I'd be looking at a very compact MOLLE chest rig, or something like the BW Zip Rack... pop on two 3xMP5 shingles and whatever else.

What about the SORD military free fall rig? Only $43 AUD plus s&h. 8 PALS channels, 3 rows. Would be good for 2 x triple pouches and a side-arm holster or 3 x triples for a total of 9 M4 mags.

EDIT: on sale right now for $35 AUD

Drake September 1st, 2006 14:28

Yeah thats exactly the type of chest rig I had in mind. Yuxi wanted SMG mags, so I guess he'd be looking at something like BHI strike mp5 pouches.

Chingyul September 1st, 2006 20:56

They also have their own mp5 pouches:
http://www.sordaustralia.com/mp5x3.htm

They're on sale too for $22 AUD

Looks like a pretty interesting setup.

Kwokwai September 2nd, 2006 14:21

SORD stuff is top-notch. I've got two of the SMG triples along with other bits & pieces. Thinking about buying some more...

Chingyul September 2nd, 2006 21:53

Those prices look good too.
Anyone want to try to get a group order together to save on the shipping fee?

KwokwaiWu: Do you think this would work well for a light MP5 set up?

The Sord MFF with 2 of their SMG triples? I'l also have a drop leg triple too.

rooks September 3rd, 2006 00:12

...

Don't for get the SORD Subgun Stack ... only $30 AUD.
