AK metal lo-caps

Anyone know where I can find 30rd METAL lo caps for a ak47? Is there such a thing?

Unfortunatly no, the 30 rounders made by Star are Plastic.
TM lowcaps are the only metal ones.

their was a guide around somewhere that showed you how to take the mag apart and put a screw at the right place in the spring to make it a 30rd mag. you'll have to search for that though.

You could always fill a loading rod up with 33 BB's, then mark the tube where the 33rd BB is using a piece of electrical tape. That way you can just fill up the tube to the tape each time and load your TM lowcaps. Three BB's always fall out with the removal of the mag so you'll fire 30 rounds each time. I do it with mine. Realistic ammo count and you don't have to spend money on new mags or mod anything. Takes two seconds.

Exactly. If you have metal lowcaps, just use them with that rule. No sense in buying those star mags. If you don't already have TM lows, then i could see why you would want stars...simply for savings in the long run.

Thanks for the help guys..... I'll do one of the things mentioned, mainly I was just worried about the durability of those Star mags, if I get them.

For some reason Star lo's don't fit in my AK's magwell ever since I switched to a metal body. TM lows all the way.

I have some of the STAR 30rd'ers. Durability isn't a huge issue. Of course the metal TM ones are more durable, but the STAR ones dont look that bad, especially for plastic. As well they are a heck of alot cheaper.
