Do you wear a BDU / Harness / Etc. to Airsoft games?

I'm just curious as to how many players wear camo. I haven't attended a game yet but planning to soon so this information would do me good.

Thanks for all input.

(Please don't vote if you don't actually go to Airsoft games)

Take a look in the gallery. For the most part people wear camo.

You have close to 250 posts on ASC, and you've never been to a game, hmm. However if you want to see what people wear, just go to the images section on the home page. But the best solution is to come out to a game, even just to look and ask questions. To find the next game near you just go to the Field List and game section.

For one, I'm only 17. I turn 18 next month so it'll be a month or two before I can attend a game by myself.

I assumed that the (majority of) players that had photos in the gallery:
1) Dressed up for the pictures
and reason #2
2) Players that don't dress for games wouldn't be over-zealous to have their picture taken

Thanks for the feedback / votes, keep em coming.

No lol, as far as I know most of those players are players on a real field playing airsoft. Sometimes the pictures are taken after the match so that the camera person doesnt get shot and you can take off your goggles, but sometimes the camera person dresses up as well and gets right in there to take actual action shots.

So, even if they were just dressing up, it will still give you ideas on what to wear.

Good to see your asking before your 18 and before your investing YOUR money into it. Its what I did, get the idea of your setup first, then buy.

ya 99% of people dress up in cam and kit. this being airsoft where we use realistic guns and not pieces of plumbing its kind of expected.

I second that. Its all about the look and the realism. Would'nt be the same if we all dressed up in jeans and hooded sweatshirts carrying AK's and Armalites.

Dress like them...

You'll get quite the warm welcome.

(This was a joke, but it reminded me we had a guy show up in paintball gear a few times. I haven't seen him in a while though, so who knows what happened.)

I would love it if all noobs showed up in bright red kit.

As far as I can say, I like to go as real as possible with my kits. With the exception of a few players first games, the only time they dont wear cam is when theyre doing a PMC impression.

FOX_111 May 21st, 2006 18:23

One guy did show up is bright blue Dye paintball clown attire. He received more than his fare share of BBs that day.

Only noobs come at game without BDU hehe

Funny though how you'll get alot of people with $500 of clothing on yet the're sporting a PLASTIC gun and calling it full realism.

I like to put my money towards weapons rather than gear. No plastic or batteries taped to the side of gun for me. However, I dislike BDU's and would only consider them for a hardcore, 3 day woodland type event. Which ain't likely so I'll stick with my black, well, everything. I also like to run so a shit load of gear doesn't work for me. Plus everyones wearing gear from this or that era so it still doesn't make much sense to me.

Spandex? Anyone try that yet?

Seriously, what part of "MILSIM" was missed? When was the last time you seen the US send troops into a combat zone wearing a pair of jeans a white T and a pair of worn out nikes?

Yes there are "SOME" staged photo's but ussually the people WEARING those kits own those kits. So if you own all that gear, why not wear it when playing the game? @_@ I mean thats like buying a $400 BDU system/platecarrier and leaving it to collect dust in the closet cause you don't want it to get a little dirt on it while running around with an airsoft gun?
