(Noob) Mid-Cap or Hi-Cap?
Hi guys,
i'm pretty new to airsoft and i would like to know witch would be better for me, the G&P AK-47 150 Rounds Mid-Cap or the TM AK-47 600 Rounds Hi-Cap? Because i've seen people saying wouding a hi-cap is annoying and un-realistic, and also i think 150 rounds is enough for me. Thanks. :) PS: I've searched in the forum, no answer. |
150 rounds isn't a lot, especially for someone just starting out. Though I suppose it won't be a bad thing to learn to conserve rather from the beginning. However, you'll either be carrying a bag of BBs with you AND a loader (you can't really load lo and midcaps without a tool), or going to the safe area a lot. If you want midcaps, I'd get at least two, more likely 3 or more. Hicaps are popular because they're really economical.
I'm not sure a lot of realcap users would even carry only 150 rounds, not unless they were reenacting some of the dark periods of M16's history... |

I would run the Mid personaly but thats just because i dont like highcaps. For your self if you think you are likely going to be heavy on the trigger go with the highcap. I would see if you can pick up a box of star mags.

shadow i think u kind of answer ur own question . but i am also new to this a did some research and i chose mid cap ,the reasons are ..
1 hate the noise and winding of high caps 2 better then low cap u have more firepower 3 it those teach u not to spray the field (i am not saying that all high cap users are) 4 il ove reloading my gun because of the feel of it an the realistic part my two cents ! :smack: |
budget wise, a hicap is always a good way to start. then go lows

You are far closer to paintball with a hicap........you rattle, you wind, you have a massivly unrealistic capacity (not that all airsoft mags don't), you rrely on a far more complex and sloppy system. Basicly, to me, you might as well fold your ***** in half if you're using hicaps.
Get in on a pre-order and save oodles on midcaps. |
You would probably be happy with a highcap. It will save you alot of money.
And incase you were wondering.... Any AR highcap made by CA is miles above TM. From experience, the TM highcap has a very weak spring and thus people complain about misfeeding. The CA spring is quite heavy and i have yet to misfeed even with their highcaps... though maybe my sexy new hopup has something to do with that... |

I'd suggest trying out a variety of magazines at a game to find what suites you best. |
I have 4 of the STAR 30 rounders for my SR-16. I find that i don't burn theough those 30 rounds very quick, even when using bursts of automatic fire. However i do prefer the TM standards purely because of the construction quality and reliability.
I do have 4 of the G&P 110 round VN style mags, but mine had feeding issues taht are just finally working out, so I tend to stay with my TM standards. |
