I know this may sound stupid but can i use a standard M16 mag in a
TM M4A1?

They are the same magazine.

yes, no problem, all mags are usable in all models. How ever not all brands are recomendable.

yea, not all brands are interchangable, but the m16 and the m4 are [tm]
