I dont see any real benifit over the TM aug.

Neverhood April 9th, 2006 17:24

I think Anderson and Anderson Airsoft here in manitoba is bringing some of these in. The link is on the retailers menu.

GrieverX April 9th, 2006 17:36

Someone on the ArniesAirsoft forum has already posted a very small review on it.

Check post #150 and 162:

Given that IIRC the TM Aug Mil has be discontinued, I'd say the CA is right on the mark.

Optics look nice on the Mil version (vs, say... their CA36 optics). I have the Civ version on order, so as soon as it comes in I'll probably do a review on it.

The only real reasons to buy it are the reinforced foregrip (everyone seems to think it's reinforced), a higher FPS overall and Steyr-Mannlichter trademarks. Otherwise they're pretty much the same gun.

Still cool nonetheless..

CA AUG allegedly takes a large battery which, if correct, is a vast improvement over the TM (then again, most anything the other manufacturers do is an improvement over TM :D).

Hmmm, I think I read somewhere that the CA Aug still uses a small battery? Not 100% sure about this though.

Edit:

Scroll down, second item up from the bottom.

Got my CA AUG last night. It was supposed to be an A2 coming for me, but an A1 arrived instead so I took it instead.
I haven't gotten a chance to fire it with bbs in the mag yet, but so far it's really, really nice.
The finish is nice, the weight is nice, the front handle is very sturdy too. The optics look good, though the finish on the outside of the scope leaves a bit to be desired.
It will only fit a mini, I don't even see how it could be modified without a lot of trouble to take a larger battery.
Oh, it's also quite loud. It has a typical CA loud motor that emits a high-pitched noise.
Of course when you're firing it's right next to your ear, so it may sound quieter if you're on the recieving end. ;)

If the battery compartment is the same as a Marui, you can fit a 9.6v 2600mah battery in there with zero mods. I just had one built (8.4v) for my AUG and I could have got the extra cell in there no problem, but opted to keep it at 8.4v as the gun is stock and likely will remain so.

hmm i saw a ca advertisemnet somewhere saying that it can fit a large batt
