Customs and barrels

Would this outer/inner and grip be likely to make it through customs? http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...p?prodID=17918

I broke my bent barrel trying to bend it back AARRGG! Might as well do some upgrades.

if not the outer barrel set, do you think an inner barrel would be ok to order from the US? I cant find a canadian source for CA870 parts...

Sekester January 13th, 2006 15:03

nope ,sorry dude it wont make it.

Zyre January 13th, 2006 15:10

are there any other barrels that would likely fit? like if I cut down an APS2 barrel?

Sure it will. For starters barrels are not controlled goods in Canada except for prohibited handgun barrels. That's neither a barrel for A) a prohibited handgun, or B) a firearm, nor is it a replica firearm. Customs would not have any legal grounds to detain it.

Skruface January 13th, 2006 15:39

That barrel should* be fine. It's not a reciever, and it's not a handgun barrel less than 104mm. This, it's not controlled. As WK said, Customs Canada has no logical reason to hold it.

*I include and asterix because sometimes Customs does not follow the rules of logic.

thats not a barrel! its just a pipe with a notch in it :D

Sometimes customs decides to grab some funny stuff. A few years ago an order from WGC largely passed through except for a mechbox and a PDI 170%. Other mechboxes and springs got through as well as a buttload of mags in the same box. Sometimes I think someone at customs is an airsofter...

Sometimes i think someone at customs is an a-hole. My boss worked in customs, and he says the shit that goes on there is just awsome! I dont care to go any further than awsome from the horror stories he has told me.

Peace!

i would be surprised if there is someone at customs is in airsoft....good way to get parts for free and in the country....lol...

Gryphon January 13th, 2006 20:25

There ARE people in Customs that play (or want to get into) airsoft. A friend of a buddy of mine is one of them.

No, he works border crossing duty. Not the mailroom.

It's not so nice being restricted to ordering within the country...there's some nice/fun stuff in other countries.

Greylocks January 18th, 2006 06:47

Nothing at all stops you from ordering where you want. But if you bother to look at the costs by the time the stuff gets here, exchange rates, etc, you'll notice it's simpler to ask a Canadian Retailer.
So far I've gotten superb service from the retailers I dealt with.

If you still want to send your cash out, send it to me. You'll get the same results/risks; nothing in return and I'll buy some cold beer.

I never said that it was only Customs that restricts orders to within Canada. Out of curiosity though, is there any other way of buying a gun from outside Canada? I realize that I might as well just buy within Canada, but for the sake of arguement, could it be done?

+1

I just finished reading NAM (National Airsoft Magazine, *I think), and near the back, they have a "secret shopper" article. They gave the shop a one star, literally took three pages to fill out everything he had to go through to get a thirty dollar vest.

Glad we don't have that kinda crap in Canada... At least not from the retailers list on top. :D

You *can* buy a gun out of country, it: A) just won't make it or B) make that you've made a felony offense.
