You can find reproduction CADPAT at www.cpgear.com

They are not the same style as the uniforms the Candian Forces are issued, but it is made with the same type of material. Only the pattern (where the pockets are located) and the fact that it is not InfraRed treated, are different

Spitfire December 14th, 2005 08:48

hmm...
is this good qulity?
where could i get the real uniforms from?

thx

PS: you're from victoria? thats great, i've been there one year ago...

The best CADPAT pants and shirts are made by Drop Zone and can be found here. These are better than the real stuff.

There's always Ebay! You might find reasonable prices with some sellers (that I've seen so far). Just search for cadpat and it takes you to a bunch of listings.

You can also contact ArmyIssue on these forums or via www.armyissue.com , let him know what you are looking for, price range, new/used, and he'll help you out. I've bought a fair amount off of him both in person, and via these boards as I live several provinces away and do not always get to stop by his shop when in the area for business.

He will also ship overseas.

thats what farmboy sais, is that true?
is it better than the real stuff?
would bi pretty surprising...

I am Canadian Forces reserve and if I could wear my Drop Zone Ops pants instead of the issue ones I would be in heaven.

The issue (real) ones are cold in the winter, hot in the summer, fade really fast and fall apart almost just as fast.

Remember the real stuff is made by the lowest bidder.

BawBag December 14th, 2005 18:03

Haha, don't be so mean Farmboy. It might be made by the lowest bidder, but it still works. I mean, he wanted the CF issued stuff not the best most 1337.
Don't mean to come off as an ass, but I am also in the reserves and our combats arnt THAT bad..

First off we do not have BDUs, the US does though.

We have combats.

I agree with farmboy, they do suck in cold weather since they are so thin. Only the first gen faded really fast, I got 3rd gen CADPAT an there not too bad for fading. Haven't had the problem of them falling apart, aside from the stitching coming loose on one of the chest pockets and one cargo/thigh pocket on the pants.

also you probaly wont find REAL CADPAT combats for sale as they are are controlled item and it is a federal offence to sell/buy.

actually they started to show up as surplussed items a while back - you still have to hunt around though.

F.Castle December 14th, 2005 20:24

I agree with BAW BAG, when I was in the Reserves we were still wearing those OD green combats that wouldn't fool a blind man, I like the new BDU's
coloring and pattern.

Spitfire December 15th, 2005 12:25

hmm... so i think i'll share some money for the drop zone stuff...

DuffMan December 15th, 2005 13:36

Yeah, all the pockets make it Mega-Force style too :P. The drop-zone tunic is cut in a fashion that resembles the mods that US ODAs and SEALs, etc, all those HSLD guys make on their tunics (ie. shoulder/sleeve pockets, velcro EVERYWHERE and such)
