NVG purge
hit up EOD Steve on ASC, his buddies know how to purge and build
|
You don't really need to have it purged. Just make sure you don't get random shit inside and assemble it in a dry environment.
|
wait, purging isnt necessary? i assembled in my basement few days ago, is it dry enough?
|

The most important thing is to do it in as low humidity environment as possible. You want 0% ideally, which is hard to get unless you can get access to a place with a really good HVAC system.
Purging isn't super important because it'll leak out of the scope in less than a year anyways. Odds are your 14 might have already lost it's nitrogen. Old school dudes used to put a small desiccant inside the unit to ensure any and all humidity will get taken out. |
guys, i read online that people use duster gas to keep the moisture out via the purge port, is duster gas safe in the unit? since I have no idea where to get a small can of nitrogen, can i use Tetrafluoroethane or Difluoroethane?
thanks |
Duster gas has other stuff inside it.
