Gun In Storage For 2 Years

Hi, so I bought a CYMA M14 2 years ago to play airsoft but just never got around it and this things has been collecting dust for at least a year now. I was wondering if there were any precautions I should take like lubing or replacing gears before plugging in a battery and destroying the gun.

Thanks a lot.

Just run it. It could have been sitting in a warehouse for that long before being sold.

if it was in the garage seeing winter to summer temperature swings the o-ring in the piston might have dried out... I say just run it. As long as the battery holds charge it will more than likely be fine.

Run it and see what happens. If it's shooting fine, keep shooting till something breaks, then replace said broken part.

If you are comfortable yourself working on a gearbox a relube/regrease wouldn't hurt. And while at it as mentioned above I would inspect the O-ring. If it's cracked just toss it. If not, just give it a stretch (watch some youtube vids) and lube it properly.

If you last shot it in full-auto it is possible the spring was sitting fully-compressed. In which case it won't be shooting as fast as it was when you used it last.

Not a problem, but something to look at next time you can grab a chronograph.
