HELP TM Hi-Capa Build problems
 
First of all Hi as you can tell this is my first post.

I got a TM Hi-Capa 5.1 over the holidays with a bunch of upgrades and i finally need some help.

After 2 week of waiting for parts and 3 days of assembly and fitment i have finally hit a road block and need some help

Just FYI this is my first gun and i have never payed a game yet and hoping to play my first game this month and try to give some people whit an AEG a run for their money i doubt i will and will probably fail but worth a try no?

My Current build

Now my question - after all the tech and fitment i now have my pistol shooting at at consistent 300 - 302 fps and with about 76 shots per mag before a noticeable drop or the hammer cocks back half way.

HOW CAN I GET MORE FPS !!!! i was aiming for about 350fps but i don't know how to get there now. The only thing i can think of and have read up on is a longer inner barrel would that be the only choice??????

or a new hop up unit - still waiting on them to be in stock though.

PS. for all your pistol nuts you are all 100% when you say don't upgrade when your get your pistol it does not need it ....but it does look really sexy also note i pinched 2 loading nozzle springs and almost lost springs a few times trying to figure out everything about the hi capa.

High flow valves in your magazines. I see you haven't listed any of those.

But yes a longer inner barrel would do it as well.

(smaller / longer = more fps)

Hi-flow valves, ready mentioned

Rocket valve; some will yield more output, some less

That's all there is to it
*maybe* a stronger hammer spring

BUT; you don't need more fps
Why do you want more power?

More range and precision? You're looking in the wrong direction

Your fps is already super consistent ; don't go and screw it up.

Range and precision is achieved by consistency in power (air seals mainly) and a good a good hopup setup

A 300fps can easily outrange and be more precise than a 500fps gun

Keep that in mind!

i guess its good to hear i have gone wrong yet, but i herd that heavier BB's are better in terms of accuracy, no ?

and don't i need more FPS if i plan on using 0.25g - 0.28g bb for better accuracy?

i have only tested my build on a chrono with 0.20g bb with green gas and its has not been field tested for accuracy yet so i am trying to compensate for that for now.

A rule I have always stuck with is .25's and up in any GBBR, they just are a lot more consistent and give you the best performance.

Its a gas gun... You can expect some joule creep using heavier BBs. Chrono it with .30g or something and calculate the effective power in joules. You might be happily surprised.

But does it not relate to fps ... the more Jules the more fps regardless of bb weight?

I have read up that to push heavier bb you will need more fps too

.25 or .28 are great in those pistols, even at relatively low fps. I usually use 0.20 or 0.25 indoors and 0.28 outdoors

You'll gain in accuracy regardless of fps; but your BB will fly slower, that's all

Also, as mentioned, you'll benefit from Joules creep

A gun shooting 0.2g BBs at say, 320fps, will output 0.95J

With the same gun, if you just swap to 0.28g, you might find out that yes your velocity is lower (made up number, say 300fps), it adds up to more energy; that would be 1.16J

The danger is that if you rig your pistol to shoot 350fps with 0.2g (1.13J, that would be most indoor fields limit), and you swap to 0.28g, you'll shoot too hot and could be refused at the door

ahhh ... makes sense ....

i tested its gain toady looking just at the Jules and ignoring the fps for now, and it came in as an average 0.89 - 0.93 Jules (not including the first shot that fired hot and the visible decrease after due ti gas)

I never know that there was a limit to the Jules on a field ... i always though it was just the FPS.

FPS is a measure of speed: how fast a BB is going.
Joules are a measure of energy: how much energy the BB is carrying.

It takes more energy to move a heavier projectile, thus at the same FPS, an heavier BB carries more energy (and thus will hurt more on impact).

Heavier projectiles will lose energy slower than light projectiles. This mean that at long range, after a set amount of time, a heavy projectile still carry more energy than a light projectile, and will actually have more FPS than a lighter projectile. This is why heavy BBs will fly farther. But to do this, you need a hop up setup that will give enough backspin to your heavy BBs so that they stay in the airs for at least as long as the lighter BBs.

So, yeah, FPS is mostly irrelevant when you want range. You need a great hop-up setup and heavy rounds. For accuracy you also want the gun to be as consistent FPS/power-wise as possible, which is why MultipleParadox warned you to not mess with you very consistent setup.

In indoors/cqb if your quick and know how to move a pistol can be very effective.
I have no advice to add on the gun as other have already given you some great tips.
Impressive build for your first gun! Keep up the good work and let us know how your first game goes.

Also, I'm curious, where did you get those frames?
Did you order them from outside the country and just got lucky that they got across the border or you got them in-country?

They look great! How much did they cost?

I just had a light bulb moment

So Jules = Force of impact
and FPS = The time it takes for the bb to get from point A to point B

meaning more fps makes the bb get to desired point faster and Jules means harder impact

as for the parts ... it was ordered online, and i have learned that the retailers are smart and label it all as toy parts so there is no issues but you have to be smart too and not order it all together so it does not look like a pistol.

i had no problems, but the set was ordered from alpha air soft and only issue from ordering everything was the cost of shipping. which was anything from $15-$25
