Cut-Off lever problem??
So, I have this D-boys M4, and after two years, it decides to die on me. Basically, the first problem was the wire harness. It got shredded by the motor at some point, and that shorted out the gearbox. Bought a new wire harness (Marui I think) and it turns out, even though it was "rear-wired" it was too short to reach the stock. ):<
But I digress- I install the harness, albeit too short, and then I find out that the gun doesn't shoot on semi anymore. It's stuck on full auto. I do some research, and I find out it could be the cut-off lever. I pull er all apart, and the lever is ground down- probably the source of the problem. So, I buy an SHS lever, and TRY to install it, but it seems that the hole that slides onto the post is too small. I don't know whether or not I should attempt to sand the hole a little bigger. Any advice? Thanks guys! |
compare the lump of metal on the 2 cutoff levers, if your old one is indeed ground down, you will need to open up the hole in your new lever so it will fit the post.
Did you replace the trigger contacts as well? How tightly do the contacts hold the trigger block when you move it in there by hand? If it's too tight, the cutoff can't do its job and you'll get burst or full auto. |

Thanks guys. I started on the sanding last night, and it's fitting a little better now. Just gotta keep working at it.

It's not the SHS that you add to the list of not to buy, it's d-boys :P

meh, you're never guaranteed 100% of the time to have 100% compatibility. :P
I have a lonex gearbox with all lonex compression components and a lonex hop up unit with lonex rubber. It doesn't feed. |

The body shouldn't be relevant in this case, the v2 hop up parks into the front of the v2 gearbox, lonex to lonex should not be a problem. The nozzle is behaving like it's too long and prevents feeding. If you were to match, say a lonex gearbox in a JG lower with a prowin hopup, some bullshit random ACM nozzle and APS upper, then you would have a solid argument with mismatched parts. When everything housing all the components plus all the components being the same brand with the interlocking nature of the V2, there should not be an issue. |
