Hobby King: No Confirmation

I made an order yesterday for a Lipo, Charger and power supply. However after 24 hours I received no notification of the order what so ever. I called my CC company and they advised payment was made however has not been posted (still waiting to be posted).

Has anyone had to wait like 24+ hours to receive confirmation with a tracking number or anything of the sort from these guys?

-EDIT: Order confirmed, realized I used a different email for the order, doh!

The same thing happened to me ordering from hobby king, but my order said payment not received even though my paypal said the money had been sent. I emailed them three times over three weeks before I got a response from them. My order took about 2 months in total to get to me but everything arrived and was functional. Just be persistent when emailing them.

I'm not waiting 2 months, I need to be game ready next week. If I do not receive notification by the end of tomorrow my credit card company has assured me they will revert the payment.

2 months for a store WITHIN Canada?
That's horrible.

Hobbyking is HK based? I do know they have warehouses in the UK and US. They use singapore post and it comes through montreal, so shipping does take awhile for them.

Otherway it's not shipping that is the issue, it's the order itself not being verified. They pretty much lost my business on this one.

I've spent a few grand at HK over several dozen orders spanning the past 3ish years.. Once or twice that happens to me.. no email, no word from them, and then suddenly it shows up at my door.

Ye I'm paranoid when it comes to online shopping. Once I received the tracking number I'm refreshing the page every hour lol.

Hopefully this works out cause I haven't found anywhere else with this Turnigy stuff and I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for batteries and a charger.

XZIVR June 21st, 2012 20:51

If you have an Android phone there's an app called track checker that works great for this sort of thing. Anyway HK really is the best place for these batts. Give it a few days and check the orders page.. Sometimes it takes them a few days to ship and update the system..

-Noob Alert-

I realized that I used a DIFFERENT email for the order and site registration so I've confirmed the order.. Wow I had a big blonde moment.

You do one thing different from your usual routine and you mess things up lol.

The rule of thumb I've learned is that you always need to swallow a jar-full of Ordering-From-East-Asia Chill Pills every time you order from Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Japan. It's on the other side of the planet, a lot of these stores are often focal points of the global market for our hard-to-find items and are quite busy, and they're in a completely opposite timezone which amplifies the out-of-sync feeling. If you need it fast, always choose the fastest shipping you can afford, because the cheapest shipping always takes many weeks.

I generally get my Hobby King, eHobby Asia, etc, orders within a week, but as you have probably discovered by now it's important to just fire and forget and then be pleasantly surprised a few days later :)

That said, Hobby King does have a USA warehouse that can ship to Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if the ship times were actually competitive with EMS shipping from Hong Kong though.

Ye possibly, that is great advice I will definitely keep that in mind!

If you're ordering some Turnigy LiPos be ready for a looooong wait because HK Post/Sing Post don't ship them anymore so they're getting shipped via Swiss Post meaning this will happen:

Sat 16.06.2012 10:00 Mailed Swiss Post SINGAPORE
Sat 16.06.2012 10:00 Arrival at border point of origin country Swiss Post SINGAPORE
Sat 16.06.2012 17:03 Departed transit country Swiss Post SINGAPORE
Sat 16.06.2012 17:03 Departure from border point of origin country Swiss Post SINGAPORE
Thu 21.06.2012 18:28 Arrival at border point of origin country CH-8010 Zürich 1
Thu 21.06.2012 18:31 Departure from border point of origin country CH-8010 Zürich 1

It's going to be like playing, "Where In the World Are My Batteries".
