Noobie help if you could.

Hey guys, first time posting. I purchased an ICS-21 A1 rifle a while back and I'm having problems with it firing. When I pull the trigger it makes a high spinning sound, no "popping" where it would normally do that when fired. Anyways, I finally took it apart and found the white plastic piece inside the upper gear box is missing the first big tooth or block as some pictures make it look, it's broken off somehow. I think the part is the piston. Anyways, here comes the million dollar stupid question. Is that piece the reason my there's nothing happening except my lower gears spinning when I fire?

Any help would be appreciated.

Here's a picture of the part I'm talking about and a little flare of magical MSpaint circling.

yes. your piston is toast. since your sector gear cannot engage the piston, all you're doing is spinning your gears. inspect your gears for damage and purchase a new piston.

Most probably the main reason why your gears are free-floating when firing. That big tooth you circled is the one you need to get you piston cranked in order to fire a bb, so yes that piece is your current problem.

Did you took out and put back your gears btw ? You may as well misplaced the gears too ...

The bottom gears are almost new, they look good. Maybe for now I'll just worry about that as I'm not too mechanically inclined with these things.

thanks for the help Aper and Coachster. It's appreciated.
