What kind of magnifier/scope/spyglass do I need?
 
When I play airsoft I often end up being squad leader or CO and I often find myself lacking means to watch the enemy from afar or ways to identify the BDU.

Important : I don't have or want a scope on my AEG.

I bought a small pair of binoculars a year ago but realized that it is almost impossible to use them over goggles. They end up being so far from my eyes that I can't get a good field of vision.

Now I am thinking that a monocular or spyglass of some kind could be good. Would it do the trick? Would wearing goggles prevent me from using such items?

A cheap spotting scope might be the ticket for you, aside from that..............

I used to use a 4x eotech qd magnifier. That way I would have both options to keep it on my rifle or in hand.

Do the eye cups fold down? That might help a bit if you haven't done that already. You will have to find binoculars with long eye relief - they say a minimum of 15mm for people who wear eyeglasses, but since goggles stick out a bit more you might need even longer than that.

my spotting scope doesnt have enough eye relief to use with goggles.

Get a cheap short scope with variable zoom and just remove the rings. Should fit in a longer pouch maybe even an mag pouch.

A magnifier is only 4x and won't be enough to make out the camo patern at good distances. Too bad because it's perfect for spotting if held by hands.
If all else fail, you could carry a rifle scope on you and use it as a spotting scope. Just pick one that is compact, yet powerfull enought.
