C7A1 Conversion?
 

Its been a constant search to find an AEG that I feel is right for me. For a long time, I was thinking about the P90, but I struck a revelation today. It'll have to be nothing less than a Canadian C7A1 Assault Rifle. The inherint problem of course is that its not produced as a stock AEG that I know of.

I heard you can get a C7A1 body that replaces that of a stock M4. Does anyone know anything about this, wether its feasable, and possibly where I can pick up a conversion body?

I think its the Gaurder Metal Body.

In the short time since I posted the original question, I did some additional searching here on ASC, and I feel the need to clarify slightly.

I'm looking for a general kit, to be applied to I suppose either a M4 or M16 without a great deal of hassle. I'm not a diehard milsim guy with the absolute need to have a perfect C7A1 replica on my hands.

Based on my experiance with AEGs, mainly rentals and trying out the guns of others (I own a GBB M9 myself) I favor the assault rifle style of weapon. I was hoping to go that route as a purchase, but I was hoping to add a uniqueness to my gun while adding a litle patriotism at the same time.

The short end of it comes down to, I'd like to have a feasable C7A1, however I'm not willing to spend exhorbent amounts of cash and go through a difficult conversion process to have what I want. If I can't find a kit that more or less contains that which I need that can be applied with moderate difficulty or easier, my best bet would to be cut my losses and aim for a M16/15 style weapon right?

Hey, There is no body made with the canadian c7 markings already on it although there is a C8 metal body made by guarder. If you just wanted something that looked like a C7 than you would have to get a M16 and put an elcan scope on it. Samurai makes a good replica. You would have to make sure that the M16 that you are getting has a detachable carry handle.

Thats alot of what I'm discovering. All told, the C8 is probably the better route for me to go. Truth is, most of my experiance is CQB and thats pretty much all the battle I'll probably see for a good long time. The c8 being a bit more compact seems to be my best bet for a canadian gun.

I have done much research into this topic and there are a couple different routes to go.

1. Get a TM M4, replace the outer and inner barrels and get a M16 For Grip (get the inner and outter barrels M16th Length). Remove the carry handle and put a replica(or real deal) Elcan Scope on it. Paint the Elcan, foregrip and slither stock OD Green and you have yourself a C7A2.

2. Get a TM M16A2, get a gaurder M16 Die Casting so that you have a flaptop with rails, mount an Elcan (real or replica) and you have a C7A1.

Thats pretty much the jist of it all.

Not sure if this is an issue with you, but remember, if you were to go with the C8 you will have to use a small battery or a nunchuck. The C7 allows you to have a larger battery.

Canadians dont use the AN/PEQ unit. Also your #2 option would only make it a C7a1.

The battery issue isn't that important to me due to the fact that 99.9% of my playing is CQB, and skirmishes are more or less a consistent 45 minute firefight. At max, I might go 2 hours... I'm more concerned with the mobility in a CQB situation.

I might add, I'm not familiar with nuck batteries. Would I have to modify the housing at all?(drill/carve/etc) I realize they are almost 3 times the capacity of a mini battery, which would appeal to me, as I would eventually to compete outdoors.

You can get a nunchuck battery to fit in the foregrips and you wouldnt need to replace the stock.. I have a 1700 mah, not sure if its a nunchuck. I have a 9.6 1700 mah butterfly battery and it fits in the foregrip of my m4. Oh, i may have forgot to mention that the C8 has a different barrel than normal m4a1's. You know how there is ridges on the M4 barrels to mount m203's? On the C8 the barrel has no ridges as you can see here:

I am not exactly sure where to get the barrels but i know G&G makes a Gr16 A2 carbine which is an m4 that comes with the straight barrel.

Edit: You could also put a ready mag system on it for a large battery. I am not exacly sure if this is only used by the US forces only though.
