Sniper Range
 

Hey guys, I'm new to airsoft and I'm wondering what the average range of an airsoft sniper is... I'm thinking about 450-480 fps with .2 grams but shooting .3 gram bbs, and hop-up properly adjusted (duh). Also, I would like to know how much different weights of bbs, amounts of altitude, and humidity/wind in the air affect range, as well as length of barrel and FPS. Thanks!

Its "Sniper Rifle" A sniper is a role not a weapon. ANYWAY450 - 480 on .3 gram bbs is way higher than the legal field limit. From what I know Bolt action sniper rifles are allowed up to a maximum of if 500 FPS on .2s if not 450 fps on .2s

450 - 480 is hitting like 580 FPS on .2s
500 FPS on .2s is shooting around 410 on .3s

I'm an airsoft sniper, my range is about 300-340ft max, about 260-280 accurate enough to hit someone. Depending on conditions of course.
And that's at 440fps on .20s, you won't see much difference in range between 400 and 480fps, like maybe a few feet at most.

A Sniper's Range would be about the distance that he can throw.

A Sniper Rifle's Range can vary wildly based on many different variables such as weight of the BB, amount of air compression, consistancy and stability of the air around the BB.

Also just because your rifle can shoot that far, doesnt mean you can hit a bar door at that range.

Well, first and fore most.. FPS is not everything.

With .2's my AGM MP40 is shooting about ~260. Using .28's hopup tweaked, I can reach out to 100 feet easy as pie.

A good hopup setup is the first step to anything.

The hopup in stock TST/ACM/China sniper rifles is usually crap. You may get a lucky god-send one that works great, but who knows. Currently my TSD VSR-10 needs a GOOD overhaul of parts, it shoots like utter crap with .28's.
So don't expect amazing range bone stock out of any cheap sniper rifle.

Get Age Verified if you can, that will give you access to the Classifieds, site supporting retailers and some more information.
From there, you will have a lot more options as to what you want to choose from.

A sniper's range can also be measured by distance of knife thrown. Heheheh.

Well he's not being very specific, so I mean I've got a variety of ranges;
About 300 feet skipping rocks
I can throw a baseball pretty far
I've got really good range with a 4ft mortar, about 650ft
I can piss almost 6 feet
And my dick has a range of 7", but I only use that for mercy kills
Stalker could probably mercy you with his dick from his house though

Honesty when I first read the title I thought this was gonna be more like "Is there a indoor range where I can shoot my airsoft sniper rifle?"
