VFC SCAR-H SSR Real-Cap Magazine Compatibility

I am looking to purchase a SCAR-H SSR over the winter and outfit it as a DMR.

Sight unseen, I'm currently operating under the assumption that the lower receiver of the SSR is exactly identical to the H. Therefore, I believe that I will need to remove a tab in the mag well to allow non-VFC M14/SR25 mags to be used.

Which leads me to the point of this post - what real-cap (20-30 rd) magazines are available that will feed the rifle?

Danke indicated in a 2008 post that Star mags is compatible with VFC (http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...agazine&page=2). Is this still true? Are there any other alternatives out there?

Thanks in advance!

If VFC SCAR's are anything like my CA SCAR-L/H, I am pretty sure any magazine suitable for the given NATO class would work.
Example; my SCAR-L fits Magpul/King Arms/G&G/CA mags - and I'm pretty sure other brands as well. Be it Hicap, Lowcap, Midcap, they all work.

The VFC SCAR H will only use VFC scar mags. You can mod the magwell so it will take CA SR25 mags & Magpul 7.62 P-mags but as far as I know it won't take M14 style mags of any brand. A safer option is to mod the pmags to fit instead of hacking up the gun.

That's what I thought. I'll focus on the SR25 & Magpul 7.62's.

I saw the one thread that had images of modded Magpul mags for the H - they looked... harsh. My preference is for a hidden modification as opposed to an overt one.

Thanks.

well, once the mag is IN the magwell, the mod is hidden.
