G&G mech box questions

Does anyone know the size of the bushings for a g&g m4 cqb r stock? The ones I have are brass, and can it use bearing bushings?

both my G&G's [m4-cqd, m16] have 8mm bearings in the mechbox..

I recommend against bearing bushings. One more thing to break and if those break....say goodbye to a bunch of other mechbox parts as well.

+1 for most instances. Unless you are going to a super high speed setup and are trying to reduce friction everywhere, the bushings will give you good service.

AIRSOFT GUN RULE #1 is an old cliche "If it aint broke, don't fix it"

You will have plenty of time to take it apart. The spring will weaken, the airseals will start to leak. That's when you should strip it down and upgrade/fix what you want/need.

Highly recommend AGAINST bearings. Standard bushings are much better.

Anything above 6mm, if you use a QUALITY bearing is absolutely fine.

Thank you! Someone else who isn't on Bushing only Kool-Aid.

I've run 7...8...and 9mm bearings in my mechboxes without any issues (well...nothing that can be blamed on the bearings:)).

They're quite nice...especially with the 8/9mm setups...

High speed rigs (i.e. 35+rps) and high power rigs (i.e. 400-450fps)...no issues. I don't shoot nearly as much per game as I used to...but I'm currently running 9mm bearings in my SAW setup with several loooong bursts through it with no issue (it's shooting 399.9999fps ;))

At typical setups there's not much to be gained by using bearings...but done right and used wisely, there's not much downside that I can see in practice.
