oh good lord a couple of those for some of our local outdoor skirms would be deadly, or for op cold front @ rivers....

the 40mm grenade wow, that would be so much fun, especially @ the local cqb place if u know ppl are in a room but u cant get at em without gettin picked off

There has been talk about this for a while. Just look at the date on the vid.

Im looking forward to the 40mm nades more then the bouncing ones though :P

I've been slowly working through the queue of projects. Currently the bounding mine attachment is backburnered. The current prototypes work pretty good, but that product needs an injection mould which is a bit of a big capital investment.

Work is ongoing on the launchable grenade. That prototype is pretty far out of date now. I thought I'd be launching something pretty similar, but there have been some pretty significant improvements since that build. I have no idea when I'll be releasing a launchable grenade though. I basically like to keep prototyping until my models stop making significant incremental improvements. I hate investing in injection moulds and quickly wishing I had did things differently.

Well, if you make them, I'll buy some of them. Especially since that kit, plus a Tornado wiill probably be about the same as a claymore and would probably work out better.

Any change of an AI gas powered claymore in the future? I'd love a remote activated claymore with a little umph to it.

With any luck on my part, we'll have MUCH cooler 40mm grenades at CF ;)

i would be a bit worried about that 40mm grenade hitting someone on the head or in the face. i realize thats it's lighter than the standard AI grenade since it only holds 100 rounds, but what if it clips the corner of a door way or some other object when fired and it tumbles? that soft padded front is nice, but not really effective if the nade tumbles. i sure wouldn't feel comfortable having one of those fired in my direction. would be like taking a tennis ball to the face at a high velocity. (been there, don't really feel like going there again).

mask or no mask, getting hit by something that weighs close to a pound at throwing speed of not faster is going to fuck someone up.

MadMax December 26th, 2010 00:06

The current weight is actually not even close to a pound. The current Tornado hand grenade weighs about half a pound (220g IRC). The current launchable prototypes weigh in at 50g flight weight (bbs and gas included).

Not easy getting the weight that low considering that 20g is pellets.

Dimitri December 26th, 2010 00:17

That doesn't weigh much more then some of the rubber grenades for M203 launchers coming in at around 20g or more based on a quick search.

Sounds pretty good and amazing to me.

So that's why they're called tornadoes. I want that impact grenade though.

redzaku December 26th, 2010 16:07

so what about the tac vests? surely they will sort of cushion the nade?
