I am excited .... Just ordered my first rifle ...

So I just ordered with Ken my first airsoft rifle.

After waiting for so long for a G3 that is "Canadian Legal" I decided to go for the SRC T-91 rifle, which is modeled after the current Taiwanese service rifle. Its unique enough I doubt I will find many of them on Canadian fields which is important to me in its own way.

Best part is, apparently the Gen 2 internals are not made anymore, so the rifle will come with the SRC's Gen 3 Pro internals at a whooping 450 fps.

It's basically an AR with another front end

Yes I know I'd need a new spring to downgrade the M140 spring, especially to play on a field. However for plinking (to practice trigger control at less then the 2.00$ a round its costing me) its not a bad set up.

The rifle pays for itself in one range session. :D

Faster doesn't necessarily mean more accurate either i'm afraid.

Pinard December 8th, 2010 19:06

450 FPS ? useless since 400FPS is almost always the maximum FPS limit for ASC games...

Evans December 8th, 2010 19:46

If you're still wanting a G3 (because we all want just one more gun than we have), get age verified and check the classifieds. There are a few G3s up for sale right now.

Hell if i can get one i wanna get an AEG modeled off the T91. Beats my M4....but yea 450 is over kill. Hope you enjoy that gun! (I should get one.....)

Evans,

Nah I am ok, ordered the T-91 and am happy about it. Now eventually I'll get Age verified, but till then its alright. My gun cabinet can't really fit any more inside anyways.

ACCL,

Ken said by the end of December he'll put in the order, it will be at my and possibly your door by March so its all up to you. :)

It takes three months to get the gun? Where do they make the gun?

Dimitri December 8th, 2010 20:46

It is being "built to order" cause they stopped producing Gen II parts, so they will build the gun using Gen III Pro internals instead.

Considering its only really a 2 month wait, from the time he orders his batch to the time they need to build it, ship it over, and he needs to get it to me, it seems reasonable to have to wait 2 months.

But that is just me. :)

Just so I don't start another thread, I was wondering, what spring from the M140 that is doing 450fps would be logical to go down to to get the 400fps required for games?

I am thinking about a M120 based on various charts I've seen online but want to make sure.

You should tune it down to 350 especially if its your first gun, learn how MED's work.

A hot rifle can be a very dangerous one.

Its not my fault I spilled acid on my face....o wait, it is.

But on topic, yeah more fps doesn't mean more accuracy, if anything your just making the people your playing with more afraid of your hot gun.
