Only get 5-6 shots from gas mag???

OK I just got the propane adapter, propane and oil for my KJW 1911 MEU.
Let me start off by saying this is my first gas gun. I went to fill the mag, and and the first time i got 7 shots off and then the mag was empty. The second time I got 3 off, the next time i got 10 and the back down to 3 for about 5 more fills and then back up to 17, I don't get it. Am I doing something wrong?

I tip the propane upside down, put the tip into the mag, and push down for a count of 10 and i get between 2-5 shots

If I push it on and off I get 4-8 shots

If I push the button at the top of the mag for a few seconds at the same time as I start to fill the mag and the let it go and continue to fill the mag i get 10-25 shots off

Is it me? Am I just doing something wrong?
Any help would be great. thank.

Is it possible, there's not enough pressure in the propane tank, but it is a new tank and I never loaded it with the tank upright.

would there be more pressure in my BBQ tank and is that something I can consider?

Oh when I hold the propane tank upside down and press in the tip, the propane doesn't seem to be coming out very strong.

You have to let it fill until propane starts to spray out of the fill nozzle. That way you know the mag is full.

how long should that take cause I left it there for almost a minute and still only got 10 shots. and it still never came out the top

You made this adaptor right? Or did you end up buying a proper one? I'm betting it's your home made propane adapter you said you made in your other thread

KJ mags don't spray when they're done. You'll hear it when they're done - it only takes 2-4 seconds on those mags.

Are you filling it properly? As in the liquid propane is actually going into the magazine and not spraying everywhere?

It takes a few times to get the hang of it.

Follow this video: YouTube - Filling a Gas blow back mag

The first fill is good the the second one you can see it's not so good since the liquid was turning into gas and spraying everywhere.

Also NEVER press the "big button" on the top of the mag while filling it. That's the "gas dump" button and you shouldn't really ever press it if the mag is full or the seals can get frozen and worn and all that which means you'll have to either repair the mag or buy a new one.

I'm not sure what it could be at this point but at this point I'm just going to go to Airsplat and get 2 C02 mags and a propane adapter, and wait 2 weeks for shipping. I wished I was still in Toronto right now!!!.

That's almost exactly the same way I solved that problem.

Only difference is that I ordered from Redwolf. They'll be here next week!

why airsplat and not in country so the shipping is faster?

If you are now planning to order a 'real' propane adaptor, I can say with certainty that it was your homemade propane adapter. You never described how you made it and since it took years for madmax to perfect the AI adapter, I'm not surprised that it failed.

Still not sure why you didn't heed many suggestions and recommendations as well as Illusions offer to sell and ship you one to arrive at the same time as your new pistol. So now you will wait even longer by ordering from airsplat and not in country....

I send a PM to Illusion sometime this past week for a price and shipping quote on 2 C02 mags, oil and I believe an adapter, and to date, I still haven't heard from him, so I'll look else were. And I can get the C02 mags from Airsplat for 29.00, and I haven't seen them in Canada for less then 40.00. If I can get them from Canada for the same price, I would get them, but the dealers here seem to want to much for EVERYTHING. If they want to bring the prices down then I would bet more Canadians wouldn't buy from the USA.

Just so you all can get an idea of what I done.
The problem was a restrictor inside the part that goes into the tank. I removed it and it work fine, but I'm still going to buy the proper one.
Before I put the money out on 2 C02 mags and a adapter I wanted to make sure the gun was in working order as I bought it used, and it costed me just under 10.00 to make it.

Here are some pics of it.

I'm impressed.
