looking for a sling
 

im looking for a good sling for my mp5. it has a retactable stock, not a full stock.

im looking for a stock i can easily drop to my side and be able to run without it swinging around.

i was thinking about just a simple one point sling but im worried it will swing around alot when running with my sidearm out.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

The Magpul MS2 can be used as a single or two point sling (can be transitioned on the fly) and is easily adjustable, so you can keep the weapon close to your body to keep it from swinging and quickly release the length to maneuver your weapon.

The MS2 is a GREAT sling.

I think that sling is a pile of crap. Yes i did own one and a ASAP plate. Which brings up the point that this is for a MP5. This sling is just not going to give you the same function as it would on a M4 FOW platform.

Sling choice is going to depend on your body dynamics, your weapon and your play style

TAD Mash Single Point is amazing. The trick to preventing the gun from swinging too much is to get it tight to the body (be with enough flexibility to shoulder the weapon and transition shoulders from main to offhand), and with the sling NOT having a T junction (you know, those slings which have an an extension coming off of the sling loop). The closer the gun's attachment point is to your body, the less it will swing.

The proper way to wear a single point sling, is off hand (hand you DON'T pull the trigger with) through the sling, then over the head, and then when you drop the gun to your side, drop it to your OFF hand, and push it behind your hip. It should stay under your armpit and prevent unnecessary movement.

I own a MS2 and I use it all the time. Its performs very well, and is very well made. Only problem is that at the end of the day my should is sore from bearing the weight of my full metal gun all day. But thats what you get when you play full metal.

Orly. Perhaps that's why I've been having difficulty finding a place to stash my primary at when I'm running around "hands-free" or with a sidearm out...

I run the Blue Force Gear molle sling. It's quite comfortable with a vest and I don't find it gets in my way when I drop my rifle to pick up my side arm.

I'm quite impressed with it actually. It's the most comfortable sling I've used when having it attached to a vest.

You should be looking for a close fitting 2 point. But the sling doesnt have to be attached to the stock either. There is a sling attachment point for the mp5's where the sliding stock starts on the back end of the upper body. Im definitely going to get a 2 pointer for my MP5
