MP5 Motor not hitting Beval Gear
 

I had to take apart my Aftermath MP5J (Lycaon) to install a new spring.
When i was putting it back together, the motor(long type) located in the hand-grip wasn't touching the gears when the cover was on. I took the whole thing off again, and could spin the gears and fire the gun when just holding the motor, and could spin fire when the top of the hand grip wasn't on and i was pushing the motor into the gearbox. I Do not have the correct size Allen key to adjust the motor adjustment, but i don't think that would fix it, because it feels like it just go in 1CM or so.

Any help is super appreciated, and i know i shouldn't of tried to upgrade it :(.

All I can think of right now, make sure when you're putting in the motor, that the wires aren't in the way. Motor should bounce up and down.

Then, use a correctly sized allen key and adjust motor height. Make sure you don't forget the small metal disk.

All I can think of, others may know more than I do.

EDIT : That's what I'd do in a M4, never even touched a mp5, but should be similar.

Thats the video i used to resemble it, and the sound im getting is very similar to YouTube- AEG Motor Adjustment at 0:12, so i think ill go find a Allan key and do that.

Yes, but make sure the motor is bouncing. If one of the wire is stuck below the motor, should explain why it's 1CM too high.

And yeah, you need the correctly sized Allen key, too.

also, i cant find a key, could i just fit a couple of shims instead?

No.

Go to Canadian Tire and just buy a set of allen keys.

what size would i be looking for?

No kidding, can only do it with the right sized Allen key. I think it might be the 1.5mm one that adjusts the motor height. And if you happened to lose your metal disk, get a metal thumbtack and cut the stem off, place on the motor stem side down.......... works like a charm (note to others, to prevent losing or having your metal disk move, use Krazy Glue on the base of your motor and put the disk on there, it'll stay put, easy to take off if you force it, and the glue won't affect the motor at all, if you put a bit too much on, the strength of the motor shaft will easily break free from the glue).

Just buy a set. Comes with all sizes.

It's between 1mm and 2mm :P

Usually the dollar stores here have a allen set that will work.

A couple times before they strip to a round shape. Been there, done that at least a few times, made in China cheap tools are almost always a few uses only.
