Why I Will Never Buy Flyye Gear

First off, let me apologize for this being a rant. It's not meant to be, it's just meant to be a warning to other people out there considering buying Flyye Gear, or at least directly from Flyye. In a word....Don't

In more than a word, they have been nothing but chore to deal with. Money sent on Feb 27 and I am still without my Ranger Green CIRAS. It's been a song and dance of we're out of this, late delivery of that, shipping right a way this, shipping this week that. Promise after promise and nothing has been delivered. Their apology was an offer of a bracelet...seriously...a paracord bracelet. So much for East/West relations. LOL.

I've already begun a paypal complaint, which they asked me to close. LOL.

I was promised a tracking number by Thursday...well...nothing.

I can't speak for their gear nor can I about their retailers which I would have gladly gone through had they had stock.

Anyone else ever had a similar problem with these guys. They have for certain lost me as a customer and I'll be certain to tell anyone looking for gear to stay the hell away.

A little while back when I was in the market for a vest I was considering buying from them. Quality wise I've heard they're decent (and I think I have a few pieces from them) but generally my rule now is to keep everything in country if I can.

The few times I've ordered from the states, or over seas I've gotten all my stuff but it was just a pain.

Conker April 10th, 2010 21:00

Ordered a bunch for stuff from Royaltiger, including Flyye gear. Arrived pretty fast (even if I've been raped on shipping, but I knew that before ordering; they had stuff I couldn't find anywhere else).

Now... a friend just made an order direct from Flyye, I hope it goes well as there's some stuff for me in there...

From what I understood, Flyye doesn't stock items. They'll make them when they get orders, which might explain the delays.

That part they did tell me. Which I admit, was kinda neat. It's getting made as I order...oooh...custom. LOL. However, I was told it would ship in about 3 weeks. As of today it's 3 weeks overdue.

The quality of Flyye gear is awsome, but I've never tried to order directly from their site. go to shootercbgear.com they sell most of the flyye vests at a good price.

Any updates on your order/status. I'm on the same boat as you. I have placed an order from them before and got my items, be it a month, with no problems. I placed another order back in March and have yet to receive them.

Flyye did respond that they had some production problems instigated by one of their managers. You can read it in their news section of their website.

Just getting nervous because this time, my buddy placed and order with mine to save a few dollars on shipping. He has since paid me ($500+) and I am feeling responsible.

Royal Tiger Gear FTW

I would definitely go with Royal Tiger Gear next time, shipping is a bit steep but there on the ball there and will return emails quickly. You will get you your stuff in a more timely fashion, and they will let you know whats in stock or not. I ordered around $300 worth of flyye gear from them and had my shipment in just a few days!! This was my experience with them anyways, this was my first order so we'll see if they'll repeat there practices of excellent service.

Flyye makes the gear when ordered. The problem I have heard from good sources is that Flyye was inundated with new orders almost immediately following PEO approval of multicam for US troops in Afganistan. This has lead to delays in the months following that decision and the military orders are receiving priority.

Dear Friends & Customers,

Firstly, thank you very much for your trust and support to us!

We hereby annouce an urgent and important notice regarding the serious postponement of the shipments of orders placed in JAN.FEB and MARCH,2010. We are extremely sorry about any delayed shipment for the orders placed during this period. At the beginning we thought the main reason of the delay was the long Chinese new year holiday( and we also explained to the customers with this reason), but soon after the holiday we found we were wrong. We tried to improve our lead time by using an advanced management system in March, but as most customers would have known we still failed to ship most orders as promised which was out of our expectation..

We began to realise there must be something wrong with the production chain and we started to investigate the whole production line, after around a 2-week-observation and investigation, with full evidences and witnesses, we found out the main reason: Our former production manager was bought over, by one of our competitors here, which gave shock to every member of FLYYE INDUSTRIES, this was very disappointing. Many orders were delayed to put into production on purpose and the lead time was lengtherned.

We think this reason might be hard to to accepted by everyone, and could be considered as an excuse. But this is what we must be honest with to everyone.

Now we have relieved the production manager of her job, and we already have a new power who are veteran and professional joining us. With the scientific new management system we believe we can provide a better, and faster production and shipping service to you from now on!

We will try our best to ship every delayed orders asap, and once again, we apologized to all the delayed shipments which has caused the very inconvenience to you because of our negligence on the production management before.

Finally, thank you all so much for your great understanding, patience and trust, we won't let you down any more.

Thank you!

With the best regards from FLYYE.

Respectfully
FLYYE INDUSTRIES.

Wow, that's quite the interesting development. Nice to see they're being open with their customers about it.

Regardless of the true reasons they're delayed, it's not berry compliant (being that they're made in china), so the troops can't order from Flyye. ;D

Conker May 29th, 2010 19:07

Eeeh... the Army can't order for the troops, but AFAIK individual soldiers can buy whatever they want, Berry or not...
