Does anyone in Ontario deal with Daytona drop in kits or know how to install them correctly?

unfortunately we're SOL on our side of the border with GBBR out of the game, and most of the active/current DG info left forums in favor of the fb page.

What kit did you get? Some are a drop in and some require modifications.

I say we bring GBBR back from the dead! He also made me a DG 416.

I;ve had a few, if you need help with install let me know.(AK M4's and MP5 and FAL)
Never had a G36 or Scar or 249 so probably can't help too much.

I had opportunity to deal with Justin(China) for my DG needs.
I had TNK Rizzo(US) upgrade my AK bolt to the newer one with larger valves but we had no luck in having it delivered to me in Toronto,it kept getting sent back at the border and I had to use a US buddy to bring it over( have no idea what the issue was..TNK sent it 3 times)
Others seem to have had better luck.

That makes me a little nervous. I was going to order a variety of parts straight from the TNK website. My concern is his airsoft/real steel business causing issues at the border.
Good to know we have experienced guys around still.

The packaging TNK had was appropriate..it had actually cleared customs the first time as the customs stickr was plastered across my address and then it was returned as undeliverable , the 2nd time it just cam back to him, the 3rd time even the Post couldn't explain to him what the issue was as there were no border denial note anywhere.. and he gave up.

Perhaps they just didn;t like the look of the AK bolt in Xray..but again there was no border denial note or stamp.

I spoke to GBBR about this and he said he never had any issue, I just went back to bothering Justin( who did some custom work for me but was pushing NA kit bussiness back to TNK)

Contact TNK about your concerns and see wht he says about his Canadian shipping experience, he was a good guy to deal with and I don't think he'd sell you a load of BS just to get a DG part sale..

Are Daytona drop-in kits for the M4 still being produced?

Heard only sources are Opforce or Daytona DG and now TNK. I guess the mess between Ian and Justin hasn't been sorted out yet.

M4 DG kit were never ever drop in.

I know you need to do some cutting and modifying of the upper and lower receiver, but that can be done with a file or dremel tool. To me that is still a drop in with minor fitting.

I am sure if the company didn't run into all the issues with these owners, 2nd or 3rd gens would have made them 100% drop in.

The the airsoft industry is growing with gas guns, like the Polarstar and Wolverine HPA conversion, and Tippmann trying to enter from the paintball side. Other paintball companies that dwarf Tippmann in the paintball industry will evntually enter airsoft. Also other aftermarket companies will produce even better conversions over the Daytona.

Perhaps. Daytona has been around for several years. If a new "DG-like" system were introduced, I'm still sure most people would go for a DG over the newer system unless the newer system was significantly cheaper (less than 75% of the DG system). Why? It is well known that DGs are some of the most reliable systems in airsoft provided they are properly maintained. Almost 90% of malfunctions are due to user error, and Tony is extremely approachable when it comes to CS.

To be honest, I don't see recoil-based HPA systems catching on enough for large companies to invest in them. Airsoft is slowly moving towards a speedball mentality, with players choosing P*/SMP systems with hair triggers. Recoil-based HPA systems like the DG will remain a niche market, aimed at the MilSimers, who want features like semi-realistic recoil and functioning bolt stops.
