Who got you into airsoft, Who put you onto ASC
Hi Guys,
Been here a while and new players are all over the board now. I get a fair share at the store via the Internet and walking PBer's that I convert and so on. Theres a lot of differnt stories of how we got int the game. Share yours and maybe we can find a better way to recruit new players on the Boards! I got dragged into Airsoft by the SnowDragons. Zeon came by the store soon after I opened and started buying up a bunch of Army gear. I had met him before when I managed a POlice store but that was for Security Guard stuff. He Invited me out to Splatters and I refused the first few Invites but then I tossed some goodies in a Duffle bag and showed up one Thursday night. I was Bowled fking Over by the guys there and the kit they were wearing. ZeonPrime passed me around like a KISS groupie and before longh I was Invited to Join SnowDragons. So I declined the first few offers but hell I was having too much fun so before long I was a SnowDragon. I used to lurk on ASC for a bit but spent most of my posts on the old Snow Dragon Board. But then the players on ASC caught wind of the Business I was in and they dragged me out into the Sun. Yes I used to play a lot and have many fond memories of Shooting and getting shot. Love the Drama, the fun and the players. Thanks guys Cheers |
When i was like 16 i wanted to buy a paintball gun. then i figured it was to much for just playing occasionally. so i just picked up a canadian tire electric handgun. thought it was pretty cool. had no idea this site really existied, or didnt think much of it. since i was 18 ive been watching youtube videos (scoutthedoggie) like everyday and i loved it. but i didnt think airsoft like that existed here in Canada. my friend went to a local army surplus story, and the owner plays airsoft and mentions it. and my friend told me that airsoft actually gets played around here. so i got some of my friends who also like it and we got into it.

Bought an Omega 93R at the flea market in Montreal back in 2002 (was wanting a pellet pistol but loved the blowback of this and the realism), and later on searched around for info, found guys were playing war with airsoft guns, came across ASC and the site of a local field, then started buying up stuff and guns while reading constantly. Ended up getting a TM G17 springer and a Crosman P99 springer, then my KSC M11, my CA m24 next, then went out to play my first games with them in late 2004. Then bought my first AEG, a TM MP5 (also got my first KSC G19 in that pacakge deal). The rest is history.

Cool Thread
I sprung fully formed from the earth.
Sort of... April 2005- I was doing a web search on the FN P90 ( the gun interested me) and up popped information on Airsoft Replicas... and I was immediately intrigued. The second link on the list was to ASC. I'd been out of the Army at that point for 13 years .. had sold off all my kit and RS years ago ( First wife was Rabid "anti" which is one of the reasons she is my first wife) But the "itch" was still there. I figured that Airsoft guns would be effective training tools for CQB .. and I decided to open a CQB training Facility using Airsoft guns. and TTAC3 was born... the rest is as they say , History So I got myself into airsoft. |
Back in the mid 90's a friend of mine found TM springers on E-Bay and picked up a couple. We started shooting at each other in the basement and it wasn't long before we found out about rifles and started searching on the interwebz. I was part of ASZ back in the day (not an oldtimer unless you know what ASZ was) and came over to Airsoft Canada, Hmmm I don't know four or more board transitions ago? Years ago a guy named Bryce Rollins helped me get started. Some of the really old members will know that name and know what he was about.
Anyways that is my story in a nutshell. |
Friend invited me out to FR for a game of paintball back in 06, some airsofters were there and I switched hahaha.
Friend wasn't too happy, but oh man I was :) |
Duckman was in my ear, on and off, about airsoft for the better part of a year or more. Went over to his place one day and saw the Vault and the goodies inside then took a few rounds in the back by 2 GBB's and an AEG. (@ 20 feet I might add) was instantly hooked. Other than when I bought my first car, was the most expensive 12 months to follow.
|
My father introduced me to airsoft guns when I was around 7-8, and I spent the next 15 years or so trying (on and off, not 15 years straight) to get into airsoft. Moving to Canada and having an anti-gun mother really slowed things down.
IIRC, I found ASC with a random search for airsoft and Canada. I lurked for a little bit before signing up. |
Snake Eyes of the Snowdragons got me into It. I was always intrigued by firearms, and I had known him when he was working retail in my local hobby store. He started sharing stories about airsoft and all the games he went to, which got me very interested. He directed me to ASC and thats how it all started.
|
Back in '98 I was looking around the web to see if I could find a place to buy some toy guns like I used to have as a kid and stumbled upon airsoft. Did lots of research and stumbled upon an ad on ASZ from a dude selling a G3A4 in Canada. That dude was Tru Lai and from that point on we created Airsoft Canada together :)
|
When I was 14 I was looking on the internet for a Auto 9 replica and landed on a airsoft website and I was shocked and didn't know they were airsoft at the time and thought it was a black market for weapons since I saw a RPG 7 and was scared at the time in till I realize they were replicas.
Then I waited a few years since a friend of mine was shot in the eye and my parents thought I do the same. Then 16 came and the crapsoft I bought was amazing I thought and wasted cash (almost 400$). I bought a Well R6 at 16 and dry firing murdered it and I bought parts to repair but ended up wasting cash. Then near 18, liukinhei got me into a Hamilton game and so our mini Hamilton group was born and then the story goes on. |
Lived next door to Jeroon.. Nuff Said.
Actually i knew about airsoft for a year or so by accidentally comming across red wolf on the net while researching P90. But i never bought an airsoft gun till Jeroon showed me his P90 and getting me on ASC. So Really, You should blame Jeroon for my presence  |
blah blah, paintballed through the 90s. Met Ice-Man through work, he introduced me to airsoft in 03, started playing, formed the Snowdragons that same year with Ice-Man and Sandrock, Team Shiolette joined us also that year....rest is history.
to all the players who have given Army Issue many many dollars, my most sincere apologies. :D |
ahhh good old cf training with the systema, then came the fascination. we lovemystubby came back from the phillipenes and playedme video of games he had played, shortly after that i got my first gun (id been looking for the better part of 4 years lol) then i started constantly harrasing my friends. now we are slowly growing in numbers here in kitchener. i played paintball for years before airsoft, but when they put that systema ptw in my hand, i had to change my pants and the paintball guns havnt fired a shot since
|
I was into firearms a long time ago and I've always wanted to get the M1 Garand by Marushin before I knew about the game of airsoft. Then one fateful day while ATVing in California I wiped out and broke my left clavicle into 3 pieces. So I went back to Toronto and was stuck at home for a good month in front of my computer where luckily I stumbled into ASC.
|
I HATED bb guns before. (Because I never saw the good stuff and only the clear plastic guns) I've been shooting pellet pistols and rifles for a long time. Anywear brought me along and I saw his cousin's M4, Scar and Tm hicapas and I was like, WTF?!?! There are all these realistic guns and I never knew about it?!?!?!
I signed up here cuz of the classified ads! :D |
Bad Google search (to this day I can't remember what the fuck I was searching for that led me to this money pit of a sport).
I landed on a page with an MP5 airsoft rifle. I started Googling around and got linked to ASC. I joined here, and MadMorbius invited me out to the last noob day at The Plantation (that turned into Operation Milf) Also the same day I met Artreyu. But that was thousands of dollars ago....... |
I always enjoyed army stuff and all. I wanted to get into paintball, but I never had the money to get in it seriously, I ended up playin only a few times at the local paintball place. then I learned about airsoft, and wanted to get into it since then. I didn't knew anybody that played it.
Years later, which is a couple months ago, a guy at my job told me he wanted to get in it as well. So I bought my stuff, he didn't. I still don't have everything, the equipment is building slowly. I have a AEG, a pistol, some BBs, a charger, a tactical vest. I still have to get a couple BDUs, sling, radio, boots, googles, a holster and a couple more mags. I don't know if the other guy will ever get into it or not |
I can't remember why or what made me do it, but I started Googling airsoft guns, then "buy airsoft guns canada".... which of course led me to BuyAirsoft.ca . Picked up a Lycaon, quickly sold it, bought an ICS MP5SD6.
Just as quickly realized that there were no local suppliers of BBs and parts in my area. Hit up BB Bastard, made a big order. Hit up Ebaybanned, made a group order.... And the rest is history! Jeff |
I'm very new to the scene. My son was asking for an airsoft gun for Christmas so I started researching online and got hooked. As a gun owner and son of a WWII vet, I do have a military interest and although I enjoy paintball, this looks infinitely more fun.
Now I find myself spending money like a drunken sailor totally pumped about getting involved. ASC comes up in every search relating to Airsoft in Canada so I joined and have been reading ever since. :) Cheers! |
I suffered a hip injury ridding motocross around 2003.
Needless to say I spent lots of playing PC games during my recovery. Back then I was mostly playing Rainbow Six Raven-Shield. I was big into squad based multiplayer gaming & matching. My clan MTX climbed the ranks of the TWL (gamming league) to 1st place 4 vs 4 once or twice. We dominated the 3 vs 3 pistol league. One day during a random online game somebody was chatting about airsoft on the game. It instantly arose my curiosity and instantly began searching the web for information. Got some springer from Canadian vendor. Then got a sweet deal from some random person on e-bay for a very lightly used TMAK-47 full stock. (summer 2004) Got into the PQAC games…. And so on and so forth… drag so many of my friends into the sport. |
Looking for model gun props, bam, ASC.
|
airsoft found me
|
I invented airsoft...
actually I was looking at random things on ebay, and I saw some real looking guns, then I used the google and found out about asc etc. |
After hearing about how much fun it was from Blackthorne, I finally decided that I wanted to see the Muskoka field and what it was about. Scarecrow (aka BB Bastard) lent me a gun and some kit. My first game was a night game on the May 24 weekend at Muskoka Primary when I was paired up with the Black Bear team to be their scout since I helped tape off the field for WP's previous UN game. Was hooked ever since...but how could you not be after running the field with WP and Black Bear...couldn't ask for a better introduction.

Nearly a decade ago in an effort for Aquamarine and myself to expand the topics of discussions and our friendship past the common interested in sex toys and adult novelties, I elected to to discuss his interests in Japan which lead to learning about airsoft. Eventually discussions debilitated into situations on how to incorporate sex toys and airsoft, which many of you to this date have seen documented in either hilarious videos or photos.
|
As I recall, my brother saw me playing with a crappy 1911 springer and he said that when he was younger he wanted to play airsoft. He showed me what the hell airsoft was and I was like cool. So we went to pmall and we saw some people selling airsoft guns and that's when we both bought our first AEGs. I can't remember if he turned me to ASC or not.
|
I was with Ronan in the Special Forces back in 95 and everybody in there was saying how airsoft was the shit and how it was more exciting than Special Operations so we made the change :D
at first Ronan was disappointed because of the lack of close combat and bare-hand killing and maiming. And then T7 invented tactical lingerie. |
My buddy was one of those dudes that had a friend that had "private property to play on" and invited me out to some games. I never went, but thats what sparked my interest in airsoft. Plus I was looking for something more realistic than paintball. That got me researching on the interwebs, and I found ASC.
|
I have had an affinity for guns of all shapes and sizes since I was a little boy, but when an australian co worker buddy of mine at showed me a picture of an airsoft Assault Rifle in 2006, I instantly fell in love, started hardcore chairsofting thanks to DoubleEdge Airsoft, Anderson Airsoft, Specarms ...
Then in the summer of 2008 Jackster officially introduced me to my first all out game at DOW's last game at Rawdon. Been active in the montreal area and some ottawa games since... As for ASC, Jakster told me go on and register, Testube got me AVd at my first game, and Illusion got my all my $$$$...lol I just got CAPS certified in T.O a few months ago.....one of the first montrealers to do so.... I have met some really cool people in this community and continue to do so with each game, event or even private sale... After all this I'm about 15 grand lighter... Looking forward to 2010. |
Some man on the internet told me!
No seriously, I did find it via the internet. Soon after I searched up "airsoft in Canada" in google (cause most of what I found was related to Asia and the US and I wanted to find some more Canadian centred stuff), and found this place. At the time I was underage and a "know it all", I got told badly by some people and just bided my time until I was 18 and started actively playing. |
This started last year for me. I was a sharpshooter and with the Naval landing Boarding party for many years and I really loved it so I wanted to do something for that same rush and I thought that paintball would be the thing. I always wanted to try paintball and I had no idea about airsoft.
So one day I walked in to the Army surplus store here in Halifax looking for a paintball gun and the guys at the store told me if I ever heard of airsoft before, Nope I had no idea what it was and they pointed me to atlantic airsoft and ASC. I started doing some research and about a mth latter I played my first game with a borrowed gun. I got hooked and after spending a small fortune on all kinds of different guns I decided to make a buisiness out of it and the rest well you guys know. |
2003... accidentally stumbled on GBBs being sold on EBay. i ordered one (KJW M9 -greyish colour) from traderjpc (now ehobbyasia). item was delivered to me, not realizing the laws on importation of airsoft. then ordered my first AEG (tm mp5); then a ksc m-11. a year later... ASC.
|
I knew about airsoft for some time the first time i got exposed to it was about 3-4 years ago when i went to play paintball at FR with a few of my buddies. As we setup our gear we noticed some tents set up and guys carrying realistic guns, so some of us went to check it out. I honestly dont remember there names but i asked as to where can i get involved they told me about going on the web and checking ASC out. I only recently converted from paintball to airsoft i say about a month ago now maybe 2 and i havent had this much fun playing paintball.
forever airsoft! cheers Mike |
Mighty Mouse on the boards here got me into airsoft.. Went to highschool with him.
Then he got me onto the boards. And then I turned into a forum troll lol. |
haha... How i started... Had a bf that learned that one of my friend, Fivefingers, played airsoft!!! So, as a good gf, i introduced them, and well, tagged along to see and to do the introduction.... I was lended a shotgun, meh... it was ok.... But then, one of the warmongers, Arnold, kidnapped me, and well, lent me a gbb.... OMG!!!! It was the coolest thing ever.... And well, the rest is history... I am no longer with that bf, but more active than ever... And while playing, i had to be age verified, so this is how i showed up on asc.... lol
|
funny how nobody noticed the load of crap I typed lol.

I'd been semi-collecting militaria since I was a teen (money pit #1, thanks dad) and started playing paintball in HS. In college I began shooting airguns semi-competitively and still played PB a bit, though I was getting increasingly fed up with the lack of realism and how money-hungry an industry it was.
In the early 90s, with the introduction of bill C68 and the prospect of having to get a firearms license and register airguns looming on the horizon (figured I'd get real firearms if I had to do that), coupled with how difficult it was getting to find a place to shoot airguns and the increasingly limited challenge, I sold off my stuff and started looking for something new. I started looking at paintball again since there were new developments since the days I'd played with PGPs and SL-68s. About the same time (mid 90s), this fellow whom I played an online game with (a sort of early Battletech MMORPG kinda thing) happened to hear my story and mentioned airsoft, told me to check it out, gave me links. Told me to get my ass in gear before C68 made it difficult to import anymore. Turned out he lived not-so-far away from me too (Ottawa). That guy was Poncho (heh, remember Solaris?) Soon I was a semi-regular on ASZ, had a couple of guns and was looking for people to play with (didn't know of any other airsofters in Montreal). Someone pointed me to this crappy little Canadian team's forum (haha j/k) where a lot of Canadians hung out, and I was in turn pointed to Raven (who ran PQAC) who introduced me to the 20 or so other folks in Montreal who played airsoft. That little team forum eventually became ASC and the rest is history. If you remember this, you've been around a while: http://images.tacticalmoose.com/albu...suc%5B1%5D.jpg Mmmm classic (yeah, I kept it, I'm sentimental like that). |

A bit of silliness is ok, but do actually add your real personal story. This thread would get lame pretty fast if it starts being more about increasingly fake stories, rather than interesting personal airsoft history. Please and thank you. |

I don't even remember it was far too long ago. I know I was on a different forum before this one and lurked here for a couple years before creating an account. I got a couple of cheap handguns from japan and started looking online to see if I could get any more here in Canada. A lot has changed in 10-11 years.
|
I was bored with paintball in 2000. I was playing it in the wood since the late 90's.
I was on paintballmontreal, discussing with a lot of morons about recball, when an airsoft section was created at the bottom. That got my attention. I had bought a cheap HFC HK P8 sprigners a few years before and I had no idea that people where shooting each other with things like that. I had seen airsoft dealing websites, but I figured they where out of reach, far away things I would never own. And 450$ for an AEG was crazy money back then for something I could not use in a game. Trough that forum, I attended my first games at Action Commando during a airsoft night. I rented from Gump an M16 and fired away. I was hooked. That was in 2002. I then rented for 2 more games, including one milsim then I had receaved my first AEG, TM G36c from Tru! But back to the years 2k, at paintballmontreal, I read a lot about airsoft and ASC was mentionned as the place to read on the sport. I was clearly warned by Aper about how rude and fireprone the place was if you asked a stupid question or reposted crap. So I made an account and read for a good 2 weeks before posting my first question about the effectiveness of sniper rifles in airsoft. That was in 2003. So all in all, I guess Aper is the one that linked me to ASC, Gump and Vondnik are the one that made this interest an infectious desease. |

I was interested pistols and did some research on the 1911. I started looking for places I buy replica BB guns. My first was a Taurus 24/7 springer, and I sold that quickly because it lacked realism and then looked for online forums where I could ask to get realistic pistols. I found ASC. Here I am, not even a year into joining and I've unloaded 2k already.
|
I was helping a girlfriend and her roommate move on day, when we were all done we went back to the roomies boyfriends place for beer and pool related activities... he had a G36... I ended up clearing the house a couple times, he showed me ASC, the next day I forgot the name of the site, but remembered Airsoft, hit google, found ASC again, and bam, hooked. Bought a P90 from Bruce and turned into a 12 year old with a giant shit eating grin all over again.

Best friend and I had hit a Vegas local gun range where we fired off some real steal for our first time. On the return trip we had discussed airguns and airsoft so I had started researching both and found to like airsoft better. A couple thousand dollars later, I dragged him into the sport.
|
In late 2007 when I started working Security, I got to talking with one of my co-workers who ended up becoming my site supervisor. He mentioned this thing called airsoft a couple times, and I ended up asking him to explain what that is. He started explaining how he has a BB gun that looked just like an M16 and so on and so forth. He brought his laptop to work that night so we hopped on someones open connection and started looking things up. First up was a couple Youtube videos, then started looking for where to buy guns.
He knew a little about the laws so we tried looking for places in Canada. Came across 007 and buyairsoft.ca after weeding through a bunch of US and Asian sites. Eventually found ASC, started reading through the site and trying to learn as much as I could. I made sure I read every sticky (note to all noobs: fuckin' do this!) before I even registered. I had a few of my own newbie questions but I got squared away right quick thanks to people like Tyson, TS and the like. I ended up finding my way to Jeroons to get AV'ed and as I walked in I remembered I was in here before. I was in Port Credit to do some fishing outta the Credit River a little while before that and I went in with some friends to check shit out. At the counter was a dude who was talking guns with Jeroon and that was just fucking awesome. Growing up in Scarborough guns were a very taboo subject but there was always a bit of an attraction to guns since I was little. |
When i was little we always played fake guns, we used sticks, old lazer guns and we would shoot each other pretendly and say "gotch ya" we also played many stalking games.
two years ago i was looking up a few anime replica guns and came across a posidon kit for a pistol that turned it into a huge gun. I searched so called airsoft lurked asc for 4 months before joining and bought a thundermaul to ease my replica needs. Now i wait for that upgrade form gotcha to "pew pew pew" and anime replica looking to m4 :P |
While suffering a mid-life crisis, an employee of my wife's showed me his Sig Pro CO2 pistol and told me he and a few guys went out to some scrub brush filled area and "played" military.
Yearning to be young again, I tagged along one day. A bunch of guys from Brooks came out to and I had one hell of a fun time!! Gained a nickname..."sneaky 'ol bastard" and felt 20 years younger (despite the nickname). GreenDevil latched me onto ASC, he verified me (ha) and have done me a lot of reading. Seems I'm hooked; especially after attending Claybank 2009. WOW!! |
Found airsoft via internet when I was a wee lass. I found this site via a link on redwolf airsoft, and a link to the main local boards via this site. Alas, being a wee lass I had to wait. So I put airsoft out of my mind (I'm not very patient, it was better to forget about it for a while) and stumbled upon it again when I was 6ish months away from my 18th B-Day.

I have a fascination for guns, and the closest counterparts that I found are airsofts. Being in Canada, having a RS is complicated and no one near my familly want me to have one. A RS, you can't play with it in your house, let it disassembled a week on the kitchen table. You don't have to have a license and since my airsofts never quit my house, I can let them everywhere without having to buy a safety lock for them. And in Canada, you can' really play with an RS, you can't have rare full automatic guns etc. Not as fun as airsofts guns! This is why I love them. I'm actually writting a RS license form but even then, I rather spend my money upgrading my gun then paying for the cours that I have to follow. There is also the kick that complete metal guns with black metal lower are prohibited devices, and knowing that in my hand they are not dangerous for anyone, is a +, like an undergroung passion.
I don't remember who put me here :) |
Looking for Items for the museum and thanks to Jeroon at Armyissue ,here I am !

I got into airsoft when I was like 9 in HK My cousin start shoting me with their shell loaded springer and I went at them with the "new" JAC the rest is history..............Move along to Canada in 86/89 I heard that there was a small airsoft player base in Toronto through a friend in St Andrew's college where I attended Junior school, when I looked into it I was introduced to this tall skinny white boy named Wayne(Poncho) along with few others we became friends, at the time we are talking like maybe 2 dozen players playing airsoft in the begining thats it, I think he was the only non Chinese players, we got along and we started playing at paintball city regularly along with some new converted paintball players especially at Wasagabeach paintball. Soon a few others like P. Kang, Randy, Greg started sprouting stores and the rest is history Over the years we formed up teams like team STAT, SD UNIT, and the notorious HOTSHOT, then by 95/98 teams and airsoft are sprouting like crazy thanks to the creation of a small Canadian website by Tru and others, what it will evolved to ASC now. Thanks to ASC the majority of Canadian Xring, airsoftzone members came aboard so soon after there are no more games that required 2 months ahead to set up and countless nights on the phone to organize. Eventually we are here in present time even though teams have long disolved, we are still here alive and kicking but like tyson said our wives and other paternal duties kinda taking over our airsoft time. |
I've been interested in Airsoft since I've heard about it.. But I'd have to say that baker_jeff over at Capital Airsoft got me into airsoft.
Jeff's been a friend for a while, since before airsoft. I've helped him a few times with automotive business. |
Stumble upon it on You Tube. I am a former Infantry Sgt and was going to get back into the Reserves until I found this. All I wanted to do was tactics, patrolling and field/battlecraft. Went to TTAC Airsoft Convention last year and was recruited by Krusty to be the Trg SGT on Force Recon...now I am hooked on an expensive Hobby...but a fun one.
|
I blame Sadiztix. He showed me his rifle (nice way of saying he shot me in the ass with it) and said there were games played with these things. I enjoyed paintball, so I figured it'd be along those lines.
Went out to a game just as an observer and next thing I know, someone stuck a glock in my hand. The first time I snuck up and shot someone, I was hooked through the bag. 6 years and thousands of dollars later... |
My Language Arts teacher got me into it.
Well, I was introduced to clearsoft by a friend in my Ukrainian Dance Troupe. Played that for a while until I heard about real airsoft, but i was still under 18. After talking to my teacher I learned he was an Age Verifier. Needless to say, as my birthday was in the middle of summer, thats the only time i actively sought out a teacher during the summer. |
like alot of others I had an affiliation with Real steel including competition shooting when I was younger. I had since sold everything off moved several times, and "moved on" with life getting into a career (an injury while in cadets had basically killed a military career). jump to a couple of years ago a co worker were talking about old pasttimes and shooting. well he shows up the next day with a couple springers an an EBB pistol. and the shop turns into a shooting gallery... BB's everywhere (the boss is away on vacation ofcourse!).
anyways... the boss comes back ... and ofcourse it's impossible to clean up all the bb's ... he finally asked where the hell all the little bb's he keeps finding are from. so we tell him and show him the lil springers. The next day he shows up with his full auto, elec hopper Co2 fed paintball gun... the war starts between the boss and the crew in the shop (it was horribly one sided, even with our numbers, his gun was HOT and his PB's were crap...) I go to crappy tire and look at the options, end up sneaking an AEG M4 into the shop and suprising the boss with it the next day. well his PB gun failed, and suddenly a cease fire to the war had been called. Boredom set in, me and another co worker started looking for somewhere to go play army man. stumbled onto ASC and BC airsoft .. found SIR and found out there was a milsim coming up. in 2008 I was hooked , and now I'm SIR's problem! hah! |
A friend brought a shitty clear-soft one over to my place so I could rewire it. This was probably 4-5 years ago.
I stumbled upon ASC by accident while looking for wiring diagrams. Got AV'd, bought a TM within the first week. Now I am working on my own micro controller. Since then I have been lucky enough to get an un-official team together to practice and game when not attending events. This hobby/sport usually happens one way or the other; you get completely absorbed into it and just cannot stop, or it gets handled like a regular hobby, spend time on it when you have time. |

Must of been a fun class. |
my dad had a nuch of springers when i was little (5ish) and i kept them after the divorce ... then i saw some guys at wasaga when i was 16 and forgot about it until i was 18... was doing research on g36's and found airsoft again... then went to italy lost all my money there and came back and was signed up within the month on asc and made my first post the day i read the faq (4 hours after i signed up) im rather impressed i never had a run in with greylocks lol.
since then i repeatedly go broke whenever i have money and am lacking an airsoft gun lmao. |

I hope that he kept it quiet though. Nothing like learning your teacher is an airsofter then the stupid teens going nuts and bad things happening. By any chance though, did you ever find BB's randomly in the classroom in odd places? BB's have a weird tendency to end up in the most random of places (ie. inside socks, in your pant pockets, inside your computer, on your bed, in a bag that you didn't even put anything into and wasn't in the same room that you were loading up gear, etc.). This is a weird story too but I actually didn't know one of my classmates from high school also played airsoft. I got a hold of his name somehow and I said "that sounds familiar", I PM'ed him and asked where he went to school and graduated and, lo and behold he actually played too and was in my graduating class. |
Quote:
But though he is still active on the forums, I have yet to see him at a game. Hes probably reading this right now..... but his stories got me interested, but the great people I play with kept me in it. All the people at XT and MAA... thanks for making me spend all my money. |
Searching for paintball stuff or models can't remember...then I found asc. I blew my load all over the place just trying to fit in (ASC is my first forum experience)
I went to a game at a place closed now called Deadlands, BB Bastard was running games and I went and fell madly in love (with the guns not with Jay) I played a year or so and Deathsniper invited me to join the Snowdragons. |
Cant afford JAC's back in the day. Played around with KHC and TM springers. Came to Canada back in 95', airsoft has forgotten. Bought my "wow airsoft has evolved now its electric" in 02'. One day someone in filairsoft.com told me to check out "Airsoft Canada".
|
Bought a Yosegawa Beretta M12 on a whim in 92 in Oakville.
Forgot about it. While looking for info on Aliens costumes, discovered Airsoft. Came down fm MTL in 96 to buy a G3A4 fm Wildcard. Ended up buying two handguns from him as well and a MP5 PDW at the same time. That was one hell of an expensive weekend. The two handguns I still play with. Had to reduce my airsoft time due to school. But less money spent on games means more money for guns and gear. But now the wife says I have go down to VA and learn how other people play the game. I always do what my wife says ;) After all, she owns the grenade launcher. Btw , whoever mentioned Bryce Rollins please don't do it again. That useless cocksucker!!!!! |
Years ago while at Splatters I saw a group of airsofters in full out gear. All I can clearly remember was one guy with a serious looking shotgun and 2 players in full German kit.
One look at their guns and I was ready to switch. Too me a few more years before I found ASC though. A certain tricky asian I contacted on Youtube about a video turned out to be a member of this site... |
Before airsoft we used home made rubber bullets. (Jesus...it was the late 70's and 80's)
We used springers back in the 90's at the camp "deep in the bush". When we switched to AEG's ....and as usual with my friends (a bunch of mill rights)....they wanted to upgrade, so I found this site for help. |
Back in 2006, I met that guy in WH40K tournaments, we eventually became friends and one day while we where just hanging out between rounds we started talking about hobbies. I was into medieval LARP back then, and he mentionned airsoft.
It intrigued me, but not that much, the prices kept me off, I had invested too much dineros in toy plastic soldiers. It took him over a year and a half to convince me to come in and try it out. So I went to Action Commando in Montreal one freezing feb night, and as soon as I got that MP5 in my hands, I was screwed :D I'm the little soldier now, but still use plastic. My BBs are actually 2nd ed marines, orks and gretchins melted and lovingly shaped into spheres, then painted white. Thanks a lot Bong ;) |
I came to watch the flamefests cuz I likes carnage.
I'm still here, but it's boring and quiet these days. |

I found airsoft on my 18th birthday at Wasaga while paintballing. Met BlackBear in the process. My first experience with airsoft gun was seeing badass M4s and an awesome L96. I first shook hands with Tattooedfreak and then Deep in the Bush.
Got my M14 (first gun) from a retired retailer. |
i googled airsoftcanada , read all the faqs when i was 17. Then 2 years later, got the idea of presenting my friends into this sport. This is how Rising Sun was born ;)
|
when I was on a cadet trip, one of the guys in the same room as me placed an order for an extended magazine for his P90 on redwolf, and I was curious so I asked what he was doing (cant remember his username on here), and he said that he played a game called airsoft and explained it to me. I got interested and I started looking into it, a while later, another guy in cadets (I believe his username is WilliamS) suggested I take a look at ASC so I can start getting into the community. I have been on here since shortly after that, and been wasting far too much time here since as well.

..lol. you old fucker ...oh wait..ugh! |
Mister B did it...
I went to college with Mister B. I don't exactly remember how it happened but he told me about airsoft while we were discussing paintball. He showed me a couple pictures of games he attended.
After college, in 2007, I went with him to Action 500 a couple of times then eventually to the Rawdon event and I signed up at the same moment on ASC to learn more about the sport. However, last summer we ended up working for the same company and then the airsoft discussions came back. That's how I decided to buy my own AEG last december. |

I credit the GHOSTS, I've since heard nightgames aren't the best for a first game, but I loved it, I attribute the fact to the hosting skill of team GHOSTS. Love you ASC :3 |
When in France in 2001 for school exchange, while walking down a street in Grenoble, saw a store selling heavy weaponry. When in there with a lot of curiosity and was wandering how come you could get a M16 in France? It was my first date with airsoft! Got hook ;)
|
When i was 18, (2005) my buddy and I bought these el-cheapo walmart berettas. My trigger broke after a few days and instead of me getting a new one, i decided that i could fix it. So I was on the web looking for replacement parts (of course there were non) and I stumbled upon ASC. Hoping I'd find help fixing this el-cheapo gun, I joined and then came to realize I had a POS gun and found the world of airsoft.
|
i got into it cause a friend of mine showed up to my house one stormy night with an tm m4. and i got that in my hands and i was hooked, got a gun a few months later than after a year of playing i then found asc one night looking at guns.
|
I came accross two P99 and P99c springers in a Turkish pawn shop in Berlin. Me and a friend grabbed one each, and the plinking began. In a not-so-bright moment, we brought them back through customs (they made it), got a couple of other people hooked on the idea, and made some orders through buyairsoft. Then I came across ASC and armyissue pretty much at the same time...started lurking online and in Jeroon's shop alot, organized a couple of events outside of the ASC community, slowly got pulled in, and now I'm counting pennies to see if I have enough for a field fee and a bag of bastards. Jeroon, sorry for eating all your candy. I'm better now, promise :)

Got myself into airsoft after pellet guns and created a shitstorm and then turned out a massive ban to members. LOL
Greylocks at the time was alive. Carpooled with Jaaks and his buddies to my first FR game. |
Buddy from work dragged me into paintball in 1991. Last parent had just died year before, seemed like good therapy. Started buying PB mags... in one of them, read about this thing that was happening in Japan called airsoft. About seven years later, just before the replica ban, walked into a store downtown called Spy vs. Spy. They had airsoft guns, first time I ever got to hold one... but were still too pricy for me. (I was renting in the city, while still paying taxes and utilities for the homestead.) Many years later bought a clear AEP from a local gun store... fun, but didn't get much use. At least I could shoot it in my basement.
A few years back, at a local arms show, I saw this silver springer on one of the tables. Figgered out what it was pretty quickly, decided to get it out of circulation. Twenty bucks later I had a bit of a mystery on my hands... couldn't figure out who made the darned thing. Did some web searching, one of the links was ASC. The rest is very expensive history... ;-> |
IIRC, I first lurked on ASZ and Sgt. Lynchs cross ring something or other site, which eventually led me to one of the first incarnations of ASC.
Learned that it was best to just lurk for the two years before even posting anything. Today's flamers are Bic lighters compared to the old school vets :) |

Ahh Lynch, I will never forget that fucker complaining about all us pussies not stepping in a certain puddle at Flagraiders and when his turn came that little fucker slipped in up to his elbows but if I remember correctly he managed to save his smoke from getting ruined. Or Cooper licking up the grease from a Wendy's burger wrapper for about 2 bucks and some change, that's some desperate shit right there!
|
Girlfriend got me into airsoft.
Decided if I was gonna come back to Canada and play, I should maybe check and see if anyone actually does play here. To my surprize, there was ASC!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU ASC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! |
Was delivering pizza at pizza hut a few years back, talking to the other drivers and one of them said he plays "airsoft"... what the hell is that? I say. So he brings me out to the empty parking lot, late at night and pops his trunk. Under the street light, He pulls out two aluminum cases and reveals the twin pistols within.. it felt like something from a movie, lol. ever since, i've been devoted (as much as possible, which isn't much) to airsoft. I thought the pistols were cool, until I saw the rest of his collection :D AUG's, M16's, AK47's, spetznatz', and a variety of pistols, not to mention the players own guns... I was hooked
ASC was no more than a google search away ;) |
Wow. 3 guys from 2001 in a row.
I was still an underage noob when I joined and although I know about people like Greylocks, PK, 604DA9, HoJo, Tru/TruMart, the Wescan games and the scandals I never actually started to actively play until a little while ago so I've only heard stories but they seemed like a crazy time. |

I found AirsoftCanada.com on the net way back on '03. Went to a Wasaga game, watched Wolfpack just pwn the field, got an invite up to Wolfpack Primary, joined the team and was hooked. I sorta got myself into it but Claymore and Jax got me into really organized milsim airsoft. I'll always remember first meeting Morbius - "Nice truck. Hope you brought beer, we're down to our last 2-4" I knew I found a home at that point. |
Really? I thought CDN_Stalker invented airsoft?
At any rate, I got myself on ASC back in the day through a google search and I helped start the sport here in St. John's by taking a leap of faith and buying some gear, in the hopes others would follow. It worked :D |
I bought my first TM P228 springer back in '93 from a little store in Richmond. The salesperson told me hop-up was a harder spring (lol) and shot at a plastic case inside the store, cracking it in half. I loved it and brought it home to be kept in storage. I saw the AEGs back then and they were pricey at the time (a TM G3A4 and an A3 each for $700) That's a lot to ask for from a teen. My cousin came to my house one day in 2000 and asked if I still had my srpinger. He told me he found a guy (Peter Kang) who sold AEGs at a more reasonable price than that Richmond shop. He took me to Peter's shop and I couldn't have seen a better "candy shop" with wall to wall guns. At the time you could choose which guns you wanted but soon after the well dried up and you had to take whatever you could get. I really wanted an MP5SD5 but they sold out really fast. I decided to do a little research and found a local club VAC (Vancouver Airsoft club) which would later be called BCAC. I also found ASZ and later moved to the first incarnation of ASC. I later bought my first TM M4 or rather my wife (gf at the time) bought it for me. I wasn't a fan of armalites until that day and I've been hooked ever since (I've got a few of them now). Since then, I helped form the local club (Op-for in BC) with 3 other buddies and the rest is history.

first i heard of air soft was a web search for info on uzi's in like 1999 that brought up an airsoft uzi.
a while later a friend picked up a crosman p99 springer from canadian tire. on a whim later i was looking for info on more, and found something that said that airsoft was illegal so i sighed and gave up until a random search roughly a year ago about info on the scar came up with a link to 007 airsoft got me re interested in it. i found out about asc from a dumb ass at work who was upset that the mean people here had told him to get age verified and that he couldn't import, so he was buying 5 aks from red-dragon airsoft for $100 each. they sat at customs for a month and then got destroyed . |

I remember walking through Canadian Tire and always seeing paintball guns and then the "Soft Air" guns and finally the pellet guns. Looked up soft air guns on google and then found some asian website calling it airsoft. So i searched up Airsoft in Canada, found this site registered and looked around, then I found out you had to be 18 to buy guns. I was 13 at the time, now i just have 2 more years to knock down before I start buying guns and playing on the regular. But I must say I have had a good time looking through here and reading more about the sport, the local drama and the possibilities to come. Talked to and met a couple members already and im dying to see that shiney white "AGE VERIFIED" logo under me :D
|
I remember getting pissed at paintball after my gun broke, and felt at aloss with games costing me over 200$ with equipment and paintballs. I then took on the web to find a replacement.
I then stumbled on a thread at Foxden airsoft back in the day, which was just a paintball vs airsoft argument. I was a minor at the time and got shot down bad by Greyfox and Testtube when I asked where I could get my own piece of airsoft. I admired the respect they attributed to the sport and on how fun it is to play with people who respect it as much. Then got flamed to hell when I showed my interest in making my own airsoft RPG... Then came the stalking of ASC until I turned 18, met up with Bruce, got AVed and used up 2.5k until I realised I prefered Bullups to armalites and vests to plate carriers... yet I still won't get rid of any of them :P |
when i was like 10 I was looking for cool toy guns, and I found the site realistictoyguns.com and most of you probably know its as kapowwe.com so as i looked in amazement at their awesome toy guns i noticed these things called airsoft. that's where it started for me
