Gases

Hey Guys

Where do you guys buy your gases for ur GBBs? I'm talking about green gases, not propane or CO2.

KNIVEZS September 25th, 2009 22:49

green gas= propane

propane tank from CT + AI propane adapter= cheap green gas

burningashes September 25th, 2009 22:50

Nobody that i know buys green gas anymore cuz it was found out to be mostly propane. Most people just upgraded to a metal slide and started using propane. Its tons cheaper!!! save ur money my friend.

landwarrior September 25th, 2009 22:51

ah ok, good thing I put this in the newbie section...lol

Yeap, screw that on the end of a bottle of propane (like a little camping/plumbing one, I find the tall blue mastercraft ones small the least gross)

Add 2 drops of the included silicone every few mags

burningashes September 25th, 2009 23:09

Double Post!! Use the edit button.

landwarrior September 25th, 2009 23:25

oh ok, thanks, will it cause any problems with the guns? I heard that u need to convert the internals or something, and I'm not very technical with internal conversions. :S

No conversion or requirement needed, except metal slide. Which GBB do you have?

KSC USP and KSC mk23, no metal slides yet, still looking. I Heard no metal slides exist for KSC MK23s anymore :(, I check with wgcshop

theguy September 25th, 2009 23:38

metal slides aren't really nessecary.

I run my TM high-capa on propane, bone stock

Yep. Tough luck mate. You could try using it, but there is a risk of cracking the ABS slide.

Edit: TM guns can handle propane. Shame, the slides are sold out everywhere

landwarrior September 25th, 2009 23:49

did u post the picture because uncompany has slides for KSC Mk23s?

HeadlessChicken September 25th, 2009 23:50

I've seen some people run duster (I'm guessing this just a can of compressed air). Whats the difference pressure wise? Would GBBs be safer using duster vs using propane?

Yes, duster is lower pressure, and therefore, produces lower FPS in guns.

Its what Japanese guns are designed for, as they're laws prohibit guns from firing over 1j

However, many Japanese guns (TM for example) usually perform fine, at least for a while with the higher pressure, propane.

Not sure about other brands, only GBBs i have ever owned are all TM

Duster usually gives sluggish performance. Should work with ABS slides. The duster gas adapter should come with the propane adapter.

Metal slides are ok to import, so you can just order it by yourself.

oh ya for sure, but no barrels right?? I always wanted a threaded barrel for my USP too

theguy September 26th, 2009 00:06

barrels and slides are fine, as long as they are longer then a certain length (can't remember the exact number, USP compact might be too short)

Frames are restricted

Those are fine too. You should read the FAQs. They are a great source of info.

This is the list that tells you what is good and what isnt: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=40318

Cuddles September 26th, 2009 00:10

All the new TMs, system 7s, along with any GBB with a metal slide should be okay on propane. Most of the other GBB brands support propane/green gas as well (WE, KJW...) I think the only brand that generally uses duster gas is Western Arms - propane would put too much strain on the internal components.

agreed...any one which slide is good for a KSC USP (non system 7), I heard of so many, but dont know which is is good.

theguy September 26th, 2009 00:17

Well, changing to a metal slide isnt as simple as just switching the slide.
You need to upgrade a few other springs to compensate for the wieght of your new slide.

Both King Arms and G&P make decent M3 clones for fairly reasonable prices.

Should be able to find em on any of the big HK sites like ehobby asia, or Redwolf

Or, I think airsoftparts.ca might sell one, I always like to buy Canadian if i can

not sure, i'm not framiliar with the KCS model, but i assume it has a standard rail on the bottom?

The rails should be universal.
