Whoa, thats beatiful man...

I'm liking that RS upper... didn't know they were compatible with GBB M4s..

Also.. Wholy zombie jesus mags!

ujiro July 12th, 2009 23:43

Absolutely amazing... I love the real-steel upper. Colour is amazing. Would be sweet if the colour matched the lower.. But I bet in person you can barely tell.
I love the look though. One of the few times (probably only time) I have ever liked the look of the Noveske Fire Pig flash suppressor.

RacingManiac July 12th, 2009 23:44

looks sweet....whats the reason for going with a RS MUR upper with G&P front set instead of just getting the RS Vltor VIS? I am assuming if that MUR fits the VIS would too....

actually on 2nd thought maybe the barrel nut would be a problem...

They are compatible with Prime and Inokatsu lower, not WA or G&P(or King Arms). The front and rear pin spacing is not RS spec on those.

LOL...I sold my RS Vltor VIS a little while ago and the buyer (no matter how much pressure I exert on him) will not sell it back to me.

RacingManiac July 13th, 2009 16:47

a case of "d'oh" then.....heh

Beowulfe July 13th, 2009 16:54

Doh indeed! At least it went to a very good home.

Loathing July 13th, 2009 17:03

VLTOR receivers give me such a huge hardon, I just wish I could find one for sale. :(

Very sexy looking rifle, and uh wow, thats a lot of cash for mags.

Beowulfe July 13th, 2009 18:22

Any suggestions for optics? Aimpoint Micro?

ujiro July 13th, 2009 18:27

I like the Aimpoint Comp series. I think any of them would look very nice on that rifle.

RacingManiac July 13th, 2009 18:44

M3 or M2s will work plenty fine....though these days I've been looking at Trijicon Accupoint on the 2nd upper I've been thinking in my head...

I had a chance to see it at Operation: Mason Relic and she is a beauty. I think he let me have a sneak peek out of guilt.

Rookie Ab July 14th, 2009 07:38

I have pictures :D Don't worry Kev ;)

ILLusion July 14th, 2009 15:05

Jeez... that looks awesome. Now I'm tempted to buy back my Inokatsu, as the one thing I disliked the most about it was the receiver...

Kokanee July 14th, 2009 16:08

Wow! Awesome build, it looks like you really put alot of thought into it vs. just cobbling together bits.

With all that rail space, I would think that an Eotech or Aimpoint M2/M3 with an associated flip to side magnifier would be great on that rifle.

Wilson July 14th, 2009 16:55

Amazing rifle. I really want one!

Paint that sucker, though.

Greg, stop being so coy and just post the damn pics. :p

Beowulfe July 16th, 2009 01:57

Thanks for all the positive remarks and feedback on my GBB M4 build.

Once I get the Extended Bolt Release installed it will look something like this:

No, it makes everything ALOT quicker when you can release the bolt with your trigger finger

IRONSIGHT July 16th, 2009 19:06

Very nice. I want to sell all my AEGs' now to build something similar. Looking for any 1911s? (Joke)

Beowulfe August 7th, 2009 19:07

I thought I would post a quick update as to how the EBR installation is going. As you can see from the photo significant modification to the "ping-pong paddle" is required. I will post the finished product and maybe a short video (if life permits) later this weekend.

I am just going to wait for the Airsoft version of the bolt assist to come out...lol

I believe the actual name for that device is the Bolt Assist Device or something along those lines, using the acronym "B.A.D."

RA-Tech has also released a VLTOR bolt carrier, complete with VLTOR laser etched markings. It looks pretty hot. Your build was the first thing I thought of when I saw it. You should get it. LOL

RacingManiac August 8th, 2009 13:19

BAD is Magpul's version...there are others out there...and Magpul have not released theirs yet...

Beowulfe August 8th, 2009 13:33

Yes indeed Bolt/Battery Assist Device (BAD) is the commonly used name for this type of device, but it is a Magpul name. Extended Bolt Release (EBR) was the name used by the small manufacturer I sourced it from; named as such to avoid any confrontation with Magpul. I am just giving some props by using EBR instead of BAD. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, yes, yes to the VLTOR bolt carrier.

Bonjour43ma August 8th, 2009 18:12

woot what a sexy gun... great build job there Beowulfe.

Beowulfe August 8th, 2009 23:56

Finished for now! I will report back when I get a chance to test it more extensively. So far it looks very promising. A big thanks to KK.
